Chad Johnson......stop, please.

OK....... If you don't like his act, I feel you. The name thing, the soccer, ....... meh.

But I promise you one thing, the young man has a big set of brass ones on him. There is no such thing as being "safe" on one of these bulls. The bull that he got on is named Deja Blu. He has been a bucking-bull of the year contender several times. He has a reputation for hurting cowboys, too. He has a bucking style that pulls the rider down onto his head. The typical result is a cowboy's face meets the back of the bull's head. Even with a helmet, that is an impact far worse than anything a defensive back can dish out.

The danger in bull riding is that you can do absolutely everything right, make a perfect ride, and your spur hang on your rope as you're trying to get off, and now you're under this pissed off animal. The bull knows right where you are and he's gonna get his. Femur's are snapped in half, spleens get ruptured, or maybe you get off easy and he kicks you in the head and tyou get to sleep for a while. Of course, the bullfighters now have to figure out how to save you without any assistance from you......

It's a crazy dangerous proposition. And this dude made the decision to tie himself to this bull. There are far, far, easier ways to get your name in the newspaper. Big ups to Chad from me...... There would be no shame in changing your mind, at least not from cowboys..... They know the cost of failure.

For $10,000, I would get on a bull too. Big deal.

Not me. I remember a guy who attended the same church as me. He looked a lot like Dick Butkus, except that while one eye was looking straight ahead, the other was looking off to the east somewhere. He also had a noticeable limp.

We were talking one day and I asked what happened to his knee. "Got stomped by a bull", he replied.

"What would inspire a man to try to ride a bull?", I asked him. His one-word reply? "Tequila." Hopefully, I'll never ingest that much Tequila... ;)

It's easy to say that sitting in front of a computer.

What difference does it make where I say it? I want to do it here in front of my computer, driving down the road posting from my mobile device, or standing in the arena waiting my turn.

I'm confident you're trying to draw me offsides......

You're not that stupid.

I must be because I would do it for free. The $10K would be a bonus.

My point is that it's easy to say you'd strap yourself to a 1500+ pound mass of pissed off muscle until you go and sit on the thing.
