So my vote is get the real deal used.
Hell send me the money and I'll buy this one and ship it to you.;)

these aren't knockoffs or replicas - they're counterfeits.

my husband works with a guy who keeps buying counterfeit guitars due to their low prices. each one has needed a lot of work, and of course didn't sound anything like the real thing. in each case, and there have been several, he spent at least as much money as with a real one just fixing and upgrading, and in one case he actually ended up spending more - it was a les paul, and real gibson les pauls have good resale value, but the counterfeit he upgraded doesn't.
This. Please don't support the counterfeiters. Even the Japanese lawsuit builders in the seventies didn't try to pass off their copies as originals.

Skimming through the thread I may have missed it if it's already been said.

IMO, posting links to counterfeit guitar sales sites should not be allowed.

If even one member or lurker purchases one of these fakes, intentional or not, the op has promoted the sale.

No offense to those who have posted these links, but it needs to be noted.

Nor am I knocking the admins of the site for allowing the posting of these links. I can only hope they consider the matter.

If a lurker purchases one of the fakes without reading the thread, then it is due to their own ignorance. Chances are if they actually use the search engine to find this thread, they probably aren't that naive... they'd probably just post a thread to ask if it's a good idea ;)

I bought my Schecter Stiletto used, less than 200 Eu, very good conditions.
I was surprised: the onboard preamp is a cheap chinese-oriental made one, i purchased 3 of these preamps for 10 Usd (shipped ) each. Anyway they sound more than decent (i don't want to say they sound very good, but they sound very good). In my opinion the Stiletto is one of the best instruments i played. Go to an original one, trust me.

You need to search for an instrument which meets your criteria, but also falls within your budget. Whether your budget is top dollar or cheap alternative, it pays to research the marketplace. You could potentially find something that meets your needs/requirements, but has good build quality, and that doesn't break the bank.

I could not care less whether it's a counterfeit or not. If the consumer can't distinguish between real and fake, that's their tough luck.

That being said, I'm really tempted to buy that 1974 Fender Jazz...

Fake Rolex,Gucci bags,Ugg boots or fake guitars ?

I very much doubt I could care any less.

Fake medicinal drugs ! That would concern me. Anybody died due to a fake guitar ?
Maybe not, but it's the same as knowingly buying stolen gear, because that's what it is. Go back through the thread and replace every instance of "counterfeit" or "replica" with "stolen" and see if that makes you feel any different. Because that is in effect what these are, stolen.

I get where you're coming from, but on the other hand, people need to know that lots of counterfeits are out there. And, they're not just high end Fenders and Gibsons, but even less common and less expensive basses may be fakes. I learned in this tread that any used bass I might might looking at could be fake.
