i've never played a lakland chi's. sonically speaking what can i expect...kind of like a dark star but with more definition?

Still exploring the tonal combinations of the LH3. Even passive mode has some very cool aspects. I posted a bright outdoor photo, but in softer light the finish is very subtle and deep - like rich maple syrup. I'm very satisfied starting with a Skyline for this project.

Yeah...that is definitely a WIN! The tone is so rich and buttery. In humbucker mode, it so smooth and full. Nice contrast to my jazz basses. I think I have my LH3 set at 600 now...I'll have to check. It's very interesting to be able to tinker with it. Mine is strung with Bootsy DRs right now, and it brings out some upper mids that I really like on the 4-07.

They are similar to a Darkstar, but more mids. Truly an awesome pickup. Very open with more growl.
