Just installed some new ChiSonic Vintage pickups in my Decade! Wow! Killer round thick tone like a Darkstar pickup. Neck pickup favored it super thick, and rich, but has great clarity! Bridge favored, is the coolest Bridge favored single coil tone out of any of my basses. REALLY love these pickups!

I'm putting some Chi love in the form of some Chisonic soapbars.
Why don't they advertise these more?

I heard back from Bo, only available in the wide chi case (what the old humbuckers used to fit into) or the MM case. Magnets too big to fit in single-coil size casing. Big magnets = big sound?

What Preamps are folks using with your Chi's?

Obviously there is the LH-3, but I'm considering adding a pre to a non-Lakie Chi'd bass and wanted to get some input (no pun intended) on what other people are using.

I'm looking for something to act more as a boost and to give me a little more range with tone, but I do not want anything 'modern' sounding or geared towards slap. The bass is Mahogany and wears flats, so it needs to stay in that realm.

I use a Tonehammer pedal to add some flavor or boost if I want it, but nothing onboard. Love the Tonehammer!
