I can't seem to enlarge it, but this week's New Yorker cover made me think of CWB. That's a little girl in the doorway, walking into a music studio full of uprights.

FM, I want your doll... um... as a decoration for my music room... yeah, that's it... A REEEEEEEEALLY COOL decoration.
Before they moved to their new 4 story building a few months ago, they were located in a much smaller building next to the Cathedral. But their new location is quite impressive. Good and bad to have such a big store next to my house. I bought most of my equipment there. Each time I need to kick myself out of the door to stop me from buying another piece of gear.

Thank you! I'm loving Cologne and seriously considering planning a vacation back here to spend only in the music store (and the hardware store). If I lived here, I'd be completely broke because I'd want to stop there every day. Cologne is a lovely city, and it's definitely one I'm planning to come back to again.

And to be more specific it is a 1956 Buick Special Estate Wagon. The higher end Estate Wagons (Cenury, Super and Roadmaster) all had a different rear bumper than the Special.

Hard day at work that ended a little early. Walked to shopping - made another trip by the Lindt Chocolate Museum and bought goodies.
Then went up and down the streets until I'd found the other things I wanted to take back to people from here. Went to dinner with coworkers at Weiss Brau Das Brauhaus am Barbarossaplatz (Weiss Bräu Köln - Das Brauhaus am Barbarossaplatz - YouTube) (Link Removed). Dinner tonight was Käse-Zwiebel-Spätzle with Kölsch (spätzle is noodles, käse is cheese, and zwiebel is onion, so essentially pasta with cheese and onions).
Snakeman, today I bought the dark dark chocolate and Schwarzbier. Pictures of the Schwarzbier in the photobucket as proof so that I'm adhering to the rules. LOL. Introduced my US co-workers to Schwarzbier and the drinkers among us are converted.
Tomorrow is a short workday, then karneval (the bands were already playing tonight). Then I head for Frankfurt for the evening. Flying to Madrid on Saturday, so you'll all be along with me for the adventure!
