Okay boys and girls - I really need at least one person to be awake and talking. I went to see the most amazing band tonight. Took video of their bass player during the first set because I thought he had great sound and he was playing this really awesome vintage Fender P. When they went to break, I was going to talk to him and find out what year it was. I got about 10 feet away outside the back of the bar, and saw some other people there, so I turned and walked away. I hadn't walked five steps when I heard the gunshot. I don't think he made it. The ambulance came in quiet and that's not usually a good sign. I'm sort of in shock right now.

How are you holding up? Did you get a good look at the group around him? Did you talk to the cops? Wow, I feel so bad you had to go through that.

I'm so not okay right now.

I didn't get close enough to see anyone really, and my back was turned when it happened, so they didn't want to talk to me. There was at least one solid witness. They let me leave.

I think what's so weird about it, is this is the second time in 7 years that I've been that close and literally dodged a bullet. It's a lot to take in right now.

If you got the audience on camera too you might want to copy that to the police. Maybe if the shooter was in the audience the witness might be able to use your video to help identify him/her.
