Chris Wolstenholme: The Sticky Ver. 1

I put a circle around it.

And you can sort of see it here too.

From the looks of it, he also switched his Filter Factory for a Filter Queen & EQ Killer, or vice versa perhaps...

Well, these must be new. You can still see the WM in the pics.

The filter Queen dies exactly what the filter factory does, but the EQ killer is a strange add on. Not sure what this is used for in this context.

Maybe hinting at some new songs. It is also possible that it is the distortion that is used on things like Helsinki Jam, etc. Not sure.

woah he is using mastotron now

btw, what kind of electrix that under the mastotron?

The green one is the filter queen, and the yellow is the EQ Killer. I don't own either yet, but the filter queen is basically the filter factory, with less options, geared towards DJs. The EQ killer allows full bands to be removed from the signal, and the settings are very tunable. Remove low lows, of high highs, or drop the mids all together.

but I've ever heard that Chris uses Roland JP8080 to record Hysteria synth? (of course big muff before it)
roland-jp-8080.jpg

No. No. No. No. No.

Chris had three channels recorded at the same time. One was Muff, one was Animato and one was clean. MATT added a midi programed synth using the JP-8080 as the sound source.

Notice the change in the tone in the chorus? They didn't program that.

At every show I have been to so far, it is always the album tone, but the muff is a little loud some times.

Same here but this was from august and is the most recent version I've heard. It could have been the mix though. I guess we'll find out next time they play around PA!

Hi guys,

Fellow muse fanboy here. Just my 2cents worth on an approximation of the Human Gear Animato.
BOSS metal zone:
High - 0
Low - max
Mid freq - 0
Mid - 10 o'clock
Dist - 3 o'clock
Run this into a LM308N rat:
Dist : 1530hrs
Filter: 1430hrs
Do try it out and lemme know what you think.
And apologies about the necromancery. But I think this thread is too good to be buried.

Cheers

I'm sure the switch to Status changed his effects a lot.

I've had my Status S2 for 10 years, now, and it's a ******* ***** finding fuzzes that play well with it, it's active pickups are so hot. The WM, for instance, not a good combo with my Status, at least.

Rich people probably have ways to get around this, though.
