Honestly, the "dubstep" part wasn't as bad as people made it seem with all the negative comments. It was a 30 second clip, at the very least wait until the whole album comes out to make a proper judgement.

Is there any chance you could do a quick recording and put it on soundcloud, youtube, wherever else is easy to get onto forums? A clean signal, and then the animato in clean blend.
I have an axe-fx II, which i use mainly for guitar, but I think I'm going to ditch my pedalboard and use it for bass too. I think I've actually gotten fairly close to the animato's tone using the Rat model with an eq after it that has a bass cut and a big mid boost around 2000 Hz.
If you could, I would really appreciate it, if not, no big deal.

Is it just me, or does it sound like Chris uses a Woolly Mammoth for the chorus in Supermassive Black Hole? The verse is definitely a Muff, like Kaput said, but the chorus sounds like a Woolly Mammoth...more synthy.

Take it or leave it. I honestly don't think Survival is that bad. IT has a sick grove, massive attack in the chorus and while being a little over the top, it was designed to be that. Does anyone here honestly think they would have written these words had it not been for London 2012?
I don't. I think with popularity, comes a little change, and this is what you get. You spread the word, drag friends to shows, and make Muse a household name, now they are pushing the envelope as far as they can to get attention.
Thank the US (even though I am from there) and thank Twilight... Most of this new stuff is probably to get the Twi-Tards to stop buying their records, because what they did for twilight was not a true representation of who Muse are.
Frankly, I am excited for change, and think what we have heard so far is incredible.

Could be, but at this point, we do not know that he is using them. We have one photo from the studio of the array of pedals on his rig, not in hie rig. He might be using them, but we don't know.
It is not the animato, I can tell you that. It is gritty, but not honky. Sounds like a muff based fuzz.
