Christmas Time Is Here Again! What Are Your Plans?

It's that time of year. Christmas is upon us once again

Or, if you prefer, and I don't want to leave anyone out of these end of the year celebrations: Happy Winter Solstice, Saturnalia, Kwanzaa, Yule, Mōdraniht, Dong Zhi, Shab-e Yalda, Soyal, Hogmanay, St. Lucia’s Day, and my favorite-name for an end-of-the-year celebration: Dies Natalis Solis Invicti (Birthday of the Unconquered Sun)

Do you have any big plans this season? Any big plans foisted upon you that you are now committed to? Perhaps instead you get to relax?

Driving up to see the family. With a niece/nephew both 3 or under it's basically dependent on them and their attention span. My parents and I all have matching pajamas again this year.

Now, after I drive home will I get stoned and play jazz? No. I might get baked and prog rock out but none of that pot and devil music. Or might hang out with my chick instead if she's done and back from her family stuff.

All I want for Christmas is no traffic back home. The rest is guaranteed. Santa best come through on 680/880S or I'm learning how to poison reindeer feed.

Have you felt the pain of 680S 7pm+ on a weekday? Cuz they drop cones and take 4 lanes down to 1. I once got stuck in a traffic jam at that weird dodger stadium/i-5/i-10-us101 area where I shut my car off and got into my trunk cooler (don't judge me) and just rolled a blunt on a 4 or 5 lane freeway. Really one of those wt foxtrot am I doing in this modern age moments.

I shall not complain. I get to see my parents and my brother and sister in law and my adorable niece and nephew. It'll be a blast and I will be physically and emotionally worn out afterwards but also in pure bliss. Such fun. Such stress. Brain doesn't know how to deal so just a dopamine flood. Plus I think the best Giftmas component will depend on work. I want a Ti Chirstopher Ward, pay off some more of a couple custom basses, and to have cash for an HI vacation. I think thst is well within reason.

But you did leave out a very obvious one, Chanukah, why is that?

Well, after paying for a new roof on the house, new home owners insurance, new health insurance, and a new dog to add to the family... I'ma just lounge around here for the next few weeks and get around to some practicing, pedalboard rearrangement, house cleaning (don't ask, kid moved out and left a tornado mess upstairs lol), daily dog walks/dog park visits, TV shows & movies I've missed all year, and most importantly browsing endless posts on here. Happy holidays everyone! 🙂🙃🤪🎄
