Christmas Time Is Here Again! What Are Your Plans?

Spend tonight with my two best friends, some beers and food. I messed up 2 out of 3 gifts so I'll have some explaining to do.

I'm not really in the mood this year, which is a first. Probably cos I was told that come Q1 '26, we'll find out if my department will be outsourced and I'll be out of a job at some point in the future 🤨

But hey, friends, food and beers! Gonna be a good one!

Did our pre Christmas travel and the family catch up already. Now we are in for a quiet but a very relaxing Christmas.

I’m going to completely wrap myself in a warm vintage tone blanket that is my newly acquired Bassman Neo 115 cabinet 🔥👊👍

Merry Christmas everyone! 🎉🌲🥃🍷

Normally I'd spend the holidays with some good family friends (whom I call "American Aunt and Uncle" since they're the first family that my family made friends with when we first came to the US), but American Uncle is not well.

So... it's going to be couch! couch! couch!
(Yes, I ADORE K-Pop Demon Hunters, I learned to play "Golden" for my students)

And the teacher band wants to perform "I'm a Believer" as an exhibition act at the school talent show in May, so I need to use our holiday break to shed on that song, since the bass line is NOT easy. And I want to be able to play it in my sleep so I can focus on rocking out on stage, dancing around, really entertaining the crowd.

Oh, and this past weekend, my ballroom dance instructor and I performed a routine at the studio's annual winter showcase:

I won a 8lb gammon joint in my local pub weekly meat raffle earlier this year. That's now defrosted and soaking in the largest pan I possess - and it's a tight squeeze! Tomorrow I'll be boiling it, roasting it (whilst drinking cider!) and serving it up around 1600. Given that there's just me, my 91 year old mum and two vegans, I imagine a significant amount of my time over the Yuletide will be devoted to eating ham! 🍖🍖🍖💪👍🍻

we're celebrating small. we got smaller gifts for each other, and after exchanging them, we're having my son and his GF over. after they go home, we'll have a holiday vegetarian dinner together. we'll jam for a while, too :-)

we've put up our tree, and i've done my gift wrapping - ariex has put off his wrapping till today. i found this year's music, too - my son is a huge fan of this kind of music
