cissy strut

I realized that C Minor Pentatonic is actually not a chord (which can be put on a chord chart), while C Minor and C7#9 is.

If we were to look (listen) at just the 2 verses of the Cissy Strut song, would you think that its in C Minor or C7#9? Without listening to the solo that anyone else have done.

p/s: should I start a new thread for this in GI? to get more discussion?

I believe that the verses are in C-, and the solo part is in C7#9.

Thanks for clearing this up...

I do notice that Jaco added some runs to the 2nd verse (or is this called chorus?) part.

Where at 1, 3, he plays extra 3 notes Bb B C (octave)
And then at 2, 4 he plays extra 3 notes D Eb E

And both of the little runs sounds perfectly in the tune. The first run (Bb B C) looks fine to me from theory point of view, but not the 2nd run (D Eb E), which ends on a Major 3rd, which led me to believe that there's something to do with C7#9 instead of C-.
