Paul Revere and the Raiders capitalized on that back in the day, complete with Rev War "costumes".

By the way, they are still playing. There's a guitar player here in the Seattle area who was their guitarist way back when and he still gets tagged to go on mini-tours with them from time to time.

Brilliant idea. Theme bands do well in metal, and war's always a great metal theme lyrically. Arguably most popular pop & rap acts are themed too, only they're all the same vapid theme.

There was what I'd call a "history metal" band once, and they were good. Had revolutionary garb, I presume it was. Long ago, and no idea what the name of the band was. I do recall one of them was a high-school history teacher.
