Clip on tuners??

Why not live?

From a certain distance, mine picks up vibrations from other speakers. The instruction booklet even mentioned not standing near a stereo or other amps when tuning because they can throw it off. I'm not sure if that's true for all tuners, but it is for mine.

When playing live, I think you would be better off with a pedal. I have a Korg tuner on my pedal board which also acts as a mute function when activated.

I had a tiger clip on tuner which was great but has decided to now randomly throw a wobble after only 6 months. Not a clip on tuner but I use the Korg pitchJack which plugs directly into the guitar Jack and can be shoved in your pocket. I really like it!

I don't like the snark. It is slow to read the E string, especially if you ever tune down at all. Also, with loud rock and roll guitars in the room , forget it, the vibrations from them render my Snark useless. They also look silly live on stage, IMHO, and diminish a rock and roll aesthetic vibe.
Go buy a nice 6 pack of microbrew instead.

I use one made by Fender, works great. Even picks up the low B, which I will tune to at rare times on the E, just fine. Works good in loud rooms too. My guitarist is always asking to use it. $25. I recently picked up a Polytune Noir mini so I've been using that more and more but I will bust out the Fender every so often. I always thought I would stick with the clip on, never saw a point to get a pedal tuner. Until I got one. The PT Noir is awesome. So is my Fender clip on though.

Bought a snark just to test it out a little and havent used my pedal tuner in three years since. Things are awesome and accurate. never had a problem with interference from other sounds live. also, to get the e string tuned up quick use the harmonic on the 12th fret no prob

I really like the clip on tuners as well. I have a Snark (the blue one). One thing I'll say though, mine got knocked around a bit from gigging. And this has caused it to not pick up my E string at times and at other times it'll read the strings wrong, I'll pluck the E it says it's in tune, but it reads it as an A. I mute the strings for a second, pluck the E again it comes up as an E, perfectly in tune. And of course it'll do this type of stuff from time to time on the other 3 strings as well. So just take care of it and don't let it get knocked around!

I didn't care for the Snark - compared to my other tuners(DTR-2000, Strobostomp, Pitchblack, and Pitchjack), it tracked much slower, and wasn't as accurate - I ended up giving it away with an amp I sold...
