That's probably an 83 or 84 G&L SB-1 bass. Those a great basses even with one pickup. I have an '84 SB-2 with the same pickups, in much worse shape. Jazz style MFD's or Magnetic Field Design pickups. Not designed by Seymour Duncan.
I hope you can buy it. The case alone is worth more than a Squire!

Public school stole a few years from me.... My 8th grade math teacher was senile. My high school economics teacher told the class, banks don't need depositors, they have their own money.

Well...G&L called it the SB-1 to mean "Student Bass 1". Makes perfect sense that's where you found it.
