Thanks YCBass.....Here is another photo....

I know the lollipops are an Alleva Copollo signature but I really dig the clover keys. Both these basses sound amazing. Very vintage Fender sound with a more modern feel.

There is a very good reason. At the moment I've got 4 very nice electric basses along with an LM5 I have on order with Jimmy. I've also got a just ok double bass that i've been taking to the wood shed pretty hard for the past few years. I am going to pair down the electrics to just 2 basses :eek:. And cash in some of these other basses and work on a significant double bass upgrade..

I think you should stop at 3 electrics. The KBP5, LG5, and the new LM5. Sell everything else off and fund that new DB. You gotta' have the 60's, 70's, and the P sound covered, you know? :)

In other words, yeah, keep the KBP! :D

That certainly sounds like a good reason to me, and you should be able to get a great upgrade after some of those electric sales. :)

Coming from a guy who only has 3 basses in his stable (albeit, no upright), I think you are making a good decision. AND you still get your LM5 when it is finished, which will be awesome!

You are 100% correct, that seems to be the perfect setup. I just hope someone buys it before I come to my senses...

I bet you would keep it if it had a jazz pickup in the sixties position...
Hold off I bet in the next year or so Jimmy will finally produce a stacked pickup he digs and you could sent it out for installation...Thats what I would do but i'm nuts like Vic...:help:..Than you'll just need an RA....:-)

If Jimmy was willing to do that I would do it in a second.

It's an awesome bass and Vic makes a great point which I unfortunatley agree with but I am becoming somewhat of a collector these days, we'll see who's willing to offer me what I think it's worth....

I stopped by the shop today and got a chance to play Paul Turner's new LG5 - Aged Oly White in Nitro, Bound/Dots Honduran Rosewood board, Matching Headstock & Aguilar preamp.

Guys, this bass was pure magic. I played it for about 25 mins but had to pause frequently cause I was shaking with excitement... Just one of those instruments with which everything you tried sounded great. There was a clarity about this bass that was wonderful, it was deep and solid and clear, even when solo'ing the neck pickup and playing chords you can hear every note.

I have no doubt Paul will be very happy with his 2nd A-C.

Because of this I've decided to go with a Honduran RW board for my LM5-Rosewood.

If you don't wanna read my whole post, then 1 word sums it up - WOW!!!

Congrats Paul.

^I've got one of Jimmy's old growth honduran board on my LG5, it creates a different vibe then a pure 60s jazz and makes it a little more alive. Mine tends to work well with either a well broken in set of nickels or a bright new set of Hi Beams. It's a pretty cool spec if you don't want to be totally vintage.
