Here is Pauls bass.. Minus Pickguard

pt2.gif

Love it, very close to home for me and everything I wish I had on my LG but don't.

BTW That little Ampeg rig is super cool, I used one in the Sadowsky shop as well as the local GC. Not really loud enough to be giggable for me but cool none the less.

oh yeah!!!you lucky dog.. ... wish i was in
LA now to try it.. i like pauls last bass too.. i like the aged oly white too... im thinking im going to let jimmy do whatever color he wants on my new LG5.... he suprized me om the sonic blue p4... and i love it... anything but burgundy mist and im good..
maybe i should run a pole in a thread with all the colors and let TB pick the color... :rollno::rollno:
Hey, that might be cool... but only alleva owners can vote in the pole... people that hate me cant vote either.. :) i guess that leaves you my mother and jimmy..:)

Thanks for the pic Kirk. In all my excitement about it I forgot to take one.

What a bass! And the mini Ampeg is great too!

So it finds a home,,,If that bass had a A neck I would have bought it two years ago (about when was it made?) If it had a B neck I probably would have bought over the last year,,,,,

I even asked Jimmy about re tapering the neck..

IMHO needs a gold anno pick guard.....sweetest of rides!

Aj
im planning on a gold anodized for sure... already in the works!.... funny.... i wanted the bass from when it showed at namm way back, and the neck is perfect for me... i was more worried about the ash being too far from the pbass sound i wanted... but it sits really nice in the mix... and as the sound guy said tonight, its really quick, and growly, unlike some other p's that have been put through their system...

man i must have just missed you! i was there around noon!....

i ended up picking up the transluscent blond kpb4... played it all day today, and the sound guy was very happy!

Hey Rick, I got there around 3:30... Hmmm, I wondered where that bass was but then again with the stuff laying around I would've never known anyway. So did it replace your original KBP4 order or is that still on?

Congrats Bro!

I played that P bass too. I almost took it... Nice.. and i dig that trans white .. very nice.. Congrats

I finally got myself an Alleva Coppolo. Really great basses. I was lucky to get one with Nitro and DN, infact it's a semi-famous TB bass :P. I hope I've found the 5 string to match my Celinder J-Update 4.

Mine's got the bent plate bridge, anyone got any idea on what Allan Key to use with the grub screws on the bridge? I've tried both my smallest metric and imperial keys and both are too big. I've got quite a lot of buzzing accross all strings above 12th so I need to mess with the action set by the bridge. It's obviously had a stressful journey accross the Atlantic.

I've survived my Cancun PBass adventure! I actually had fun playing the P, but look forward to never touching one again:D Man, when you are used to the J Bass grind and presence, a PBass is a shock. I can see why many guys bolted a J pickup in the bridge position back in the day. I can also see why real 'rocker' types dig that 'middy meat' tone of a P, just not my thing.

Fun though, and an amazing gig setting (amazing resort right on the water.... GREAT front of house sound). I must admit, in the tunes where I had to double a synth track, the P worked pretty nicely... just a kind of low mid 'thud' that fattened the synth bass and added some meat. Pretty cool I guess.

I think it is a .05

Man I wish I could say I survived Cancun...
I am trying to survive the snow here in NY...:(

Hey, I'm back in Detroit, so I know what you mean:p. Amazing that you can take a 4 hour flight and be in a totally, completely different world. It was pretty killer, and was kind of fun to just get on the plane with clothes and have everything set-up and waiting for you. For a schlub like me, that is as close to 'big time' as I get these days:D

It still blows my mind sometimes at the money these wealthy people spend on these types of parties/weddings, etc. (in the hundreds of thousands of dollars for the day). It is pretty amazing to see and experience.

My LG4s have the bent plate bridge but the grub screws just have a slotted top, or at least they felt like they did this morning - bizarre (or maybe I need to find my specs!)
