@ Vic...the last thing on my radar is the matching sister bass to my LG5. Alder body and DB board. Same exact woods from mine and same color.

Except its a KBP4. I played it once when I traded for my LG5 and that Pbass is unique! The previous owner had jimmy make them and did a great job selecting the woods. There is something special in this mix.

After that...ill have my axes covered and my rig setup!
But im sure ill find something later that i just HAVE TO GET! haha..

i am doin these videos of the songs from our latest record. (Spanish as you will quickly hear) HA! When we travel we usually do clinics during the day and then a concert at night. Alot of the events have a high number of church musicians that attend. They have been asking me to record a clip of the songs we do so they can see what im playing and my positions. Also, its another excuse for me to record this Amazing LG5. Its got enough snap for me but still maintains its killer tone.


In case anyone is wondering. This is the song that comes before the other solo vid i posted up a while back. I record into Cubase and sync the vid later.

I used my home setup..which is:
LG5 - Amek 9098 - DBX 160SL - Lynx Aurora 8 - RME 9632 (PC) - Cubase 4


I also came across this clip. Although the slap is percussive and cuts thru. I WAS JONESIN for the sound i have now. What i would give to hear this clip but with my LG or my old LM..!!

Anyways...this is our Live band jammin out to one of the last tunes of a show.

Its the Pavel jazz Pro Deluxe I had for sale a while back...Killer bass..just not really comparable to my LG. But GREAT on its on...this song and "Vida Mia" the vid i did here at the house..are the ONLY two songs i play slap on. So thats why the killer SLAP thing wasnt really needed.. and with Chris' guitars taking up so much sonic space. I need to have plenty of mids to cut thru a mix. That song was all live but we usually play with Stems..(bgvs, keys, perc etc etc)


AND YES HIS IS! haha...fun tune!

For those of you who own both 4-string and 5-string A-C's, how similar, tonally, are the 4 and 5-string variants of the same models? For instance, does an LG4 sound just like an LG5, or are there some audible differences? I have played some basses in the past where the 4's and 5's sounded exactly the same, and some where the subtle differences in the pickups, or mass of the instrument, or whatever lead to sonic differences.

Ok playa's thinking about giving the AC's another try. Rosewood board and alder body is my first choice. But, do you see a big difference between LG5 classic and RA5? Thanks!

Yes... HUGE difference. Since we both owned the same RA 5, you are familiar with the unique alder/maple/70's position combination.. warm down low and VERY upper treble present up top... wide, without the growl of the LG, nor the grind of the LM... more pure sounding to my ear.

The LG sounds like a 60's J bass, as you can hear from all these clips that have been posted recently (which all sound reasonably similar... classic, warm, growly '60's alder/RW' to my ear.

I have clips up of my the RA and my LG with the same amp and strings (and player) in the link posted in my profile if you want to take a listen (the iComposition audio clips).
