That's kind of what it sounds like to me... much more boom and click versus the typical growl I hear with most LG's (and also the tone Nate usually gets on his recordings). Not really my thing, although the playing is, of course, great. Reminds me a bit of my LG with the tone controls boosted, and Hi Beams installed. Maybe that's what the producer wanted for this track.... it does work pretty nicely.
I wonder if that BA bridge is partially responsible?

Not only did I use the LG5 but I boosted both Treble and bass about 30% it was actually pretty cool.
BTW: The iphone keeps me busy between sets

On the LG5 basses with the HipShot bridge, is there an easy way to swap the bridge out for a vintage style bridge? Are these readily available or do you have to get them directly from Jimmy?

The vintage bridges are Jimmy's own creation and can only be bought from him and yes they are a direct replacement with no mods needed.

i personally love the quick-change feature of the hipshot bridge and am willing to "give up some vintage look" for convenience.
I'll do a +2 on that also. There were three good reasons why many swapped out the old bent plates on their Fenders.
1) the tendency of those things to slip and the screws coming loose
2) More mass
3) Quick release.
The stock hipshot takes care of all of the above for 'free', and looks great IMO.

I agree too with what everyone's saying regarding the Vintage Bent Plate bridge. I don't think I'd go out of my way to replace it with a Hipshot since it's already on my bass, but it's pretty inconvenient when changing strings [it's a good thing my fingers don't cause the strings to die fast]. All the basses I've owned up until now have had Hipshots so I really took for granted the ease of string changes, etc -_-.
My bent plate doesn't move sideways like Coelho mentioned, but it's a pain having to remember exactly where the strings sat or reset the string spacing since there isn't a single string slot on the saddles.
BUT, regardless of that, I personally like the tone I get with the bridge since I had the chance to play my friends LG5 through my rig [his is basically an LG5 Classic Supreme with the hipshot since he got his a few years ago]

+1 Both sound good but different... one sounds like a J, one sounds like a Fodera
I like the punchy J grind better than the big, fat, warm soapbar type tone of the Fodera, which is why I no longer own a Fodera and now own J basses
Nice though!I thought the LG spoke much more clearly in the upper register (which is my own personal experience having played a similar Fodera for many years). The Fodera is definitely fatter and bigger down low, which can be a cool thing, but also can result in you losing that 'hear the windings on the E string' ability in a mix. IMO and IME!
Does anyone in the club know where I can find, buy or trade for a Badass V in really good condition?

At the moment, Allparts told me that Leo is having a hard time getting the metal to make the bridges... needless to say, they're on backorder!!!

That P that was just put up is beautiful.
Not sure about the Resurrection.... maybe a 50's style 'Tele P'? Just guessing.
