Hey Mike,
Even if the old design is available and it would fit your bass getting a similar fretboard to that LG would be tough... As far as I know there are only 2 fretboards like that from the same tree - one on Diglo's and one on Miko's spalted alder LG at NAMM.
I'm sure it's possible to get a darker board, but those 2 in particular are something else... The best I've seen, in person and online or in pics.

I ordered a new Black PG for my LG5 from Jimmy. When I saw Diglo's LG5 with dots and binding, I wrote Jimmy about making me a new neck, but since there is a new design, the new necks wouldnt fit my neck pocket. So my dream of DARK DB and dots and binding neck are gone..HA!

But im diggin the Black and White combo.

Some updated pics of the new LG4 - new bridge, new pickguard and no neighbours in the background. ;) Included are a full length shot and a pic of the new headstock profile; at least I think it's the new one. :hmm:

Plus two close-ups of the body and pickguard. Some like the new pickguard, some say it makes them feel like they've just gotten off a nasty roller coaster. :ninja:

I like roller coasters and the new PG.

A look at the figuring on the fretboard. This is an interesting piece of wood; it used to be part of a workbench at Jimmy's shop. The wood afficionados agree that it is a Dalbergia/Polynesian hybrid. It does look and feel like Dalbergia to be sure, but to my ears sounds a tiny bit punchier.

Angle shot of the pickguard and bridge. Yes, it is a Badass II, and works extremely well on this bass. There is an extra clear layer underneath the PG. On this bass, Jimmy made the neck pocket a little shallower to give the sound a bit more bite. Works like a charm, but I found that at 11mm the strings were a little high off the body for my liking. The extra PG layer made up the difference very nicely, with the added benefit of creating a kind of 3D PG effect. I really like how it turned out, and to be truthful think that it makes the pickguard and controls come together a bit better visually. Just my opinion.

Well it's not the one I got from you!!!!

Maybe it was andy's but I'm not sure weather that ttburst of the tobaco burst one

I don't think it is....If I am not mistaken mine had a bit more black in the upper horn...The grain pattern seems familiar though...could be the lighting?? I had 2 of these and they were both great basses so i can only assume this is a great one whether it was mine or not!

Peace,

T
