Good call!!I didn't specify anything for the neck, so I guess it would be the standard profile.
I love how mine feels kinda' slender from front-back. Makes it play like an absolute breeze.

Yes, but my understanding is (corrections welcome) he only put the new body profile into the machine, so he would have to use the old template and cut by hand to make a body with the older profile. I would imagine this is a reason he would be resistant to doing it (though I do not believe he would turn down a sale to avoid it).On Facebook i saw pictures of a new CNC machine, so i am not familar about how it works with an CNC, but is it possible to program both body shapes ( old and new) in the CNC machine?
Are you sure about this? I would actually think it would not be that big of a deal....the cost to write a program is big...

You're confused.I spoke with Jimmy last night.. I know he is looking forward to the CNC.. it will help him alot... O can tell you one thing. He IS NOT Resistant to using it. I have no idea where that came up,
Especially after spending nearly 100k on a machine .. give or take.... you want that thing running.
I asked Jimmy to 'flaten' the regular 'C shaped' neck, for my LG5 on order and that was not a problem .
Celinder basses tend to have such a neck and personally I really like the feel of it . Plays comfortable.
Interresting discussion about the old and new body shape though.

I like my bass body similar to Fender Jazz Basses and not too big . Also the weight (below 10 lbs) is very important to me.
Any tips are welcome.
LG5 due March 2011![]()

You're confused.
I was assuming he's already using it (happily) and that (only) the new LM/LG body profile was in it.
My "resistant" comment was specifically regarding building against the older body style, because I was assuming that older profile was not currently programmed into the CNC.
If he's still not even using the CNC yet, which is how your post above seems to read, then my post is moot. I was assuming he's already been using it.
True, but jonno1707 raises a good question in his post. What's the cost (or I guess effort, if Jimmy has to do it) associated with CREATING the program... so it can then be loaded in? Have you spoken to Jimmy about this? I wonder if program creation is the thing that's kept it from being used so far... like maybe he doesn't have the time and/or money to get that part done? You can have hundreds of programs set up to run a=on a CNC... just load them in and your good to go...

Cool... just an FYI thing... clearly getting the orders out the door is priority. That said, it's gotta' hurt if he's literally had that machine for this long and not been able to integrate it and make full use of it yet. Sheesh, if integration is only now, or even later, he coulda' probably got a later model with more features for the same money.I believe he ran a few necks on the CNC...Not certain.... I need to call him in a while and maybe he can come in and explain if he gets time.. If not, i will try to get more info..
My firend ordered a Fodera and Alleva at the same time.. He has $$$$.. the Fodera is about 2 years wait...!! I said to him. you may not even be alive when that bass is done!

...He is not buying parts from vendors and assembling a bass from parts made elsewhere...
Wow! Someone actually raised that as a question/concern??? I never saw that go by, and would be the first to jump all over that if I did. Holy smokes, I can't imagine him even remotely considering that no matter how far behind he got.
