A buddy of mine who is in the process of purchasing a used LG asked me to repost this clip, so what the heck. I think it is a nice example of the slap tone of a 60's style instrument.
LG, well worn in Lo Rider Nickels, preamp engaged but flat other than a slight (10%) bass boost, through the Bergantino AE212/F500 rig.
I think you can hear that unique 'alder/RW growl' along with the sweet/relaxed top end of this sort of instrument spec. Very nice, and the match-up with the fat but still relatively bright and articulate/punchy AE212 is a VERY good one.
Just FYI if anyone is interested

Plek is not a fixall, and I've had basses that were none-the-better for it.
Companies like G&L and Lakland bought into this, because they make a lot of basses, and this makes set-up faster, and more repeatable.
Guys who know how to dress frets well, by hand, do every bit as good or better than plek, IME.
