Mine is aged Oly white.. He match the color to my 62 P bass.. and nailed it!

Jimmy will spill the beans when he is ready about product... I dont know anything specific.. just ideas that were tossed around... see if it comes true.

Thx Kirk , actually i am keeping the AC LM5 "virgin at home"...hahah did not use her (i guess mine is a she ?) live yet !
Its a waste huh? so now i am just gonna do it.

I really like that aged oly LG 5 of yours , is it Oly or Aged Oly?

I have not checked out the newer GB 1288 yet , will do .
Looking forward to the new stuff !
Can you give us a hint about the new AC stuff?
Tom Barney style LG?

Thanks my MM Stingray V is a 1994, not sure about the weight , maybe 9-10 lbs.

If one bass should leave the collection i am afraid it would be the Fender V... :crying:

The narrow string spacing on the stingray 5's has always been a deal breaker for me...

+1. I played an HH version this week and I thought it sounded great with both pickups on, an aggresive J-like usable tone for me but the string spacing is just tight... But it helps me not slap as much so that could be a good thing.

No, he doesn't. :D

If you recall, you sold it to me, and then I sold it to the current (TB) owner. It's a great bass, for sure, but being a sucker for playing over the neck pickup, it wasn't for me.
You're right, I forgot about that, but the current owner and I spoke a LOT about it just prior to the purchase, so I still feel close to it. :)

Thanks Kirk, also for inspiring me to check out Genz Benz !
Great!

As i am not too found of the combi withe Ampeg , i might check out the GB Uber 410? But i think i have to move for another thread.. which one?

Congrats with a killer bass!! Looks just like mine exept from the blocks.
I have a 9.0/uber 410, and I tell you thats a perfect match with the LM5!

Thx Bugbass!

I now own 2 Aguilar GS112 but somehow i find them 'nosey
sounding' , so an accent on the mid/mid-highs.

Looking for a warm articulate allround sound , and i think a 15inch will not be that responsive. So Uber 4x10 i guess.

Kirk though pointed out some new GB cabs.

Proud owner of an Alleva Coppolo LM5 :bassist: I took possession Friday evening with no gig this week end so I've been watching it snow and playing my new to me LM5:cool:
Can I get a number?
Please :D

Thanks I cant wait to hear how this thing sits in a mix I have a two nighter this coming weekend can't wait! This thing has such a cool vintagey feel kinda reminds me of an old friend but with an extra string:D. Usually takes me a while to warm up to any bass (I'm kinda slow like that) but so far I'm just blown away by this instrument.

Yeah, very easy and comfortable to play. That's what I miss about my previously owned.

Since we are massively OT anyway, for those who love the SR5 but need wider spacing, Sadowsky is doing an SR5 model with the Nordstrand pickup. Looks smokin'... lightweight, 19mm, and from my experience with playing a bass with that Nordstrand in exact MM position... it should NAIL the MM tone.

I know, totally OT and wrong thread, but is that a "stock" instrument at Sadowsky or an NYC custom build?

Ash/ rosewood it is and it does sound great cant wait to get it in a live mix! have to wait till next Friday:hyper:
Thanks for that picture you have a really cool slice of history in that 66.
Thanks , i am 46 and have had that bass sense I was 18 , it still sounds great but I don't take it out to gigs much , unless I am always able to keep a eye on it , your new bass caught my eye the first time you posted it , I have for a while now wanted a new one like my old but a little different and have always thought about the ash / rosewood combo , have never tried it , let us know how your liking it , I am sure it will be amazing , I have already saved those shots to my pictures so I can say I want one just like this , thanks

Now that is a great story, and i am glad you still have that baby never let that go, all these years that has some serious sentimental value. Keeping with the theme here i am JONESING bad for this one here, I E-MAILED Jimmy about cost and deposit requirements but due to NAMM they are not available, if anyone has any info as to the range of price and deposit requirements for this exact build please PM me, a deal fell thru for a SADOWSKY i wanted to buy so i have a VALENTI 4 string on order and want a 5 string and this one simply calls me big time. Reminds me of a 75 Fender RE-ISSUED i owned back in 03, would love to order this but with Black Block Inlays, after this i think i will be G.A.S free.:)

Me too, even though I played one for years (I luckily don't use a pickup as a thumb rest, so zero issue there).

I seriously MISS my old SR5- the ASH/Maple is good for me & I like playing over the neck pup also- but I used to use the edge of the SR5 guard. Up near the neck it was good for me.

I found the middle pos of the 3 way switch(single coil type option) to be a pretty good 'jazz' type sound too.
Different beastie to the AC's but I love 'em.
Thats a LOVELY SR5 too BTW! ;)
