Nice! Any pics of it :)

Will there also be a 4 string version?

Yes a 4 string model is available. Far as options just two model available...a J or P bass. No paint or pre on bass, straight passive. Not sure if offering in maple board. This is a great deal if u want his P. It's the same as his regular ones, just no paint and a water base finish. Also, he's putting the new kbp5 pups in them too.

here's a vid I just found of us on the tour rockin in Des Moines, IA with Mikel Paris of OAR on keys and Kenny Bongos from SOJA....check out my bass solo at 2:28! You can hear how I'm struggling to get my hand in there for those really high notes and I've asked Jimmy if he would sand down the lower bout for me and he said no, so I'll be doing it myself after I get back home for a few days hopefully I won't screw it up! haha....enjoy!

Smokin' as always... great playing, great tone, nice band:bassist:

So look what arrived at my house today :)

A very special Alleva Coppolo KBP4 Custom built by Jimmy for his good friend [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] (or bigredbass as we know him) with a personal inscription on the neck, back in October '07.

Not had much time to play yet but thought I'd post a few pics anyway. Difficult to really catch the sparkle properly so there's a few similar ones, with & without flash :

wish I am living in the state to get a hippy kbp5

HI Rick..Looking forward to mine coming this week...I will report once i get them installed in my basses..
I like that he never stops tinkering...:bassist:

Just left the shop around 1, and Jimmy just finished putting in a new designed kbp4 pickup... Jimmy continues to develop his stuff, and I can say this new pickup is killin! More vintage influenced, and some "harshness" off the top end is gone. Loving it at rehearsal right now!

not yet... but i believe hes gonna experiment with all the pickups... its more true to a late 50s to early 60s pu... so not sure if he wants it in the jazz pickups.. but for the kbp's i think its a cool improvement.. really excited to hear how Kirk likes it, as my bass is voiced a little different being a ash body and maple neck KBP...

ok.. heres a couple of pics Jimmy and I took on monday.. i wasnt going to post em because i HATED the backdrop i used, and i only saw it once i got home, but..... i had to share this Plum Crazy KBP5... it may be the best one ive played... even over my own ;) ... its sounds fantastic!!! The other wasnt finished to play, but it looks amazing too!...
so again, appologies on the backdrop... trying to figure out how to keep one unwrinkled and clean in a dusty factory is kinda hard...
