What I am saying exactly is that used 55-94s sell from $1800-$2200 depending, by accounts one recently sold for less then that. It doesn't matter if it's 4 months or 4 years old. The fact that it is in like new condition is a plus no question maybe you will get a few hundred more for it but it doesn't command a $1000 premium.

I'm not here to argue about the prices of values of the basses!!!!
So don't try and school me on it, Thank you very much!

Awesome. So now we're guilty until proven innocent, and we're given no instruction or help in how to prove it. Nothing like handing too much power to those who don't know how to properly use it, huh? *argh*

Video .. I know a guy that knows a guy that knows a guy has a nice RW neck on his bass.:rollno::D

VIDEO response here Gibson Guitar Corp. Responds to Federal Raid - YouTube!
I think everyone needs to let everyone they know hear about this.. On Facebook reposts Etc..
This Lacy Act will affect everyone! It makes it ILLEGAL for you toe sell a second hand bass if it has those woods in it... Crazy...

Just last week the FEDS under another law raided WITH SWAT teams a Food COOP in California.. Whats next? your girlfriends out of date eye shadow?

True Story:
I was read elsewhere Gibson got raided today.
Gibson Guitar CEO Speaks Out About Raids - Memphis Daily News

Yeah: boo!

I totally get enforcing current collecting and use of endangered woods. But, from what I read, Gibson was buying their wood from certified sellers.

So, if you're travelling with a vintage instrument, you'd best have bona fide provinence that the woods for *everything,*...nut, bridge, fingerboard, are Gubbmint Approved, or, kiss your tools goodbye. The burden of proof might well rest on you as the owner, and not on the manufacturer.

I'd bet most folks don't have paper like that for *anything* they own, vintage or current.

Tell them that after they've taken your tools away.
If that scenario is a real threat, it's a more real threat to "real guys" like you, as opposed to mooks like me who seldom cross county lines.

You oughta be gettin' travellin' papers from Jimmy, I reckon.

Lets see if the FEDs raid the Next vintage guitar show.. Geesh all that old Brazilian RW.... Ebony, etc.
Wow uncle sam could raise the price on all the guitars bought by the Japanese in the 80s and 90s overnight.. All those Guitars are in Japan now..
Making vintage instruments rare or non existent and ILLEGAL in the USA.. *** is going on this country.. ..Looks like i have to bring my sadowsky instead of my Alleva to Europe next month... and im in love with this kbp5 .

End of Rant

Ohhh. Alan.. (They ) are gonna get you too... :D
Whoever (they) are...
Im just a guy trying to make a living....
And who is (They and Them ) anyway.. hahah The Feds.
You know me Mr Conspiracy Researcher! :D

Yeah, but the bigger question is, how the hell do you get that stuff????

I'm betting there's no practical way to do it at all, because you don't know who to talk to, you don't know how to find out who to talk to, and even if you knew all that, good luck getting that information on paper, and even then, it would probably have to be notarized before it'd hold up as defense.

Bottom line is, it's pretty much impossible for honest folks owning items with these woods, acquired legally, to protect themselves from this "legalized theft". THAT F'N SUCKS!!!

Its like the NO FLY list... Cant find out if you are on it until you get stopped. Then you cant find out how to get off it.. or who to contact or why you are on it.. Silly Bureaucracy crud!

Welcome to Sombertown. The Burgermeister has outlawed all toys in the town, having being injured by tripping over a Les Paul while walking out of City Hall. He declares that anyone found possessing a Gibson will be arrested and thrown in the dungeon. :rollno:

It goes a lot further than Gibson.

Seriously, none of this can hold up: you're gonna tell me they're gonna frisk me for a 2011 Fender Precision? Seriously? You're gonna confiscate that?

Maybe so, since they were sending Fish and Game agents...
