Well...Nothing now.
I gave up my Eden rig yesterday, so now I don't have a rig at all!

I've been using in ears and/or monitors so sometime I didn't even use my amp.
My "rig" has been my Groove Tubes DITTO Box tube DI. It has enough out/gain it can drive a power-amp, so I would just plug into it and plug that into the return of my head anyway.

So now I'm just waiting to see what this Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0/112 is all about.

Primarily an Epifani 410UL (II) with a Markbass F1 head. That rig is loud, light, and really makes a J bass sound like a J bass... relatively transparent, but with plenty of punch and growl!

A little bit of both, but primarily the tone. the F1 sits kind of right between the huge low end of the SD800 and the warm punch of the LMII (which I also like a lot). The SD800 has a little more 'modern hi fi' to it, and more deep low end versus the upper bass/low mid punch that J style instruments seem to thrive on. Since the F1 has so much clean power, I never have really run out of headroom with it, since the 410UL is quite sensitive and has quite a bit of low end ooomph. So, the extra 250 watts isn't that crucial at this point. I still dig the SD800 though, and use it regularly, especially in really big rooms and on gigs where I need to put a big low end pillow under the band.

All good stuff, but the F1 delivers the Alleva tone (at least my somewhat more aggressive 70's model) in a way that 'sounds just like a great 70's J through a high quality preamp into a mixing console. The tiny size is a bonus:D

The LMII sounds really good also, and in a mix, they sound much more similar than different, but the F1 has just a touch more punch to it, and a little bit more sizzle up top.

Wonderful stuff IMO with a J style instrument, and especially a more vintage vibe. I prefer the LMII with my Celinder, since that bass is so aggressive and wide sounding, it benefits from the touch of extra warmth the LMII imparts.

OK... sorry for the amp derail... back to the Alleva's!

+1... those clips and also the fact that Nathan Watts is playing one was one of the things that started some of us looking the 'Alleva' way a while back.

I have that "video" on my iPod (just the music.
I always though Paul Turners tone was killin' on it, didn't know it was a stinkin' Alleva!!!!!

Does he play a LG or LM???

He's a really nice guy too...and grooves hard in that band. I know he also had an Aguilar pre ( came with it originally) in that bass and I believe it was at the time of the vid but there's a possibility he's swapped it out for the AC pre since.
I caught him with Annie Lennox too ( a different gig and mix for sure) but he and the bass still sounded really good.

It is not quik disconnect..

I guess picture the difference between a vintage style bridge vs a newer style on a new bass... In previous tests i noticed the current "B" style bridge extends the freq sectrum to hi and low over other bridges that i tried...

Kirk there was one LG5 I played at NAMM with the new bridge...after living with mine and its BRASS Hipshot bridge I think there may be some diff between the two ( a little more open, not as compressed, the high end different, a little faster attack)...but like you said until they're back to back....and they could be subtle differences...have to see.

Steel, and considerably less mass should do something towards a more vintage tone/string response....

Cudos to Jimmy ( and your contribution) for going the extra mile to remain true to a concept to that detail....

Here is the history of Pauls bass.

Paul's bass was originally made for Dave from Aguilar... So thats why it had the Aggy 3 band Pre...
Paul bought an LM5 at NAMM ...Later Paul realized he wanted a an Alder/Rosewood LG instead of the Ash/Maple of the LM. So it turned out Paul liked Dave's bass , and Dave like Paul's bass. So they Swapped basses.

In that Video Paul is playing the Alleva LG5 passive.. Preamp off.. He did not care for the Mid control and never used it. So that is a passive Alleva running into the Gas Cooker Tube Pre/DI to house. Now he uses a REDDI DI.

Anyway, if you look at the add in Bass Player magazine with Paul Turner and Nate Watts you will notice that Paul replaced the 3 band EQ with the Alleva Coppolo 2 band EQ Preamp.. So it is normal Alleva Coppolo V,V,T,Treb,Bass setup.
