+.. that bass is really something. I too don't usually get excited by the extremely vintage looking 4 string Fender type basses, but this one is something else. That finish is literally perfect, and that board is something!

as much as I'd like one, I'm too responsible to go that route....i've refused to get a credit card for the longest time due to seeing family members get in trouble with debt.
it was the beautiful sunburst making me talk crazy like that! :D :help:

You are a smart man. Ken's rule is to never buy anything except a house (and MAYBE a car early in your career) if you can't afford to write a check for it. I followed this rule from my first Epiphone/Peavey TNT rig purchase (which I had to save for back in the day) all the way through my current gear orgy!

Putting a depreciating asset on a credit card and making payments is a good way to get into REAL trouble:hmm:

What a bunch of responsible musicians! Knock it off! We have a stereotype to live up to! Didn't you guys get the memo? :hiding:

Seriously, nothing feels better than playing an instrument that you love ..., and one that is paid in full.

That said, I have 6 months to pay off the balance for the AC I just ordered. .... But I do/will have the money. So it's not technically 'debt' ... is it? :D Life is good.

Haha. I got that memo...a few of them actually. And I followed it to the letter every time. ;)

J/K. I agree wholeheartedly about not buying a bass I can't afford.

My rig for the last year has been a LMII into a UL310. I've played everything from club dates with PA support to small outdoor venues with no PA support. The only time I switch things up is when playing a small local venue that allows smoking. Then I leave the 310 home and bring an SWR 1x15 so I have on cab that doesn't have smoke stink. My LG5 sounds amazing through the LMII UL-310 setup.

YMMV. Not valid in California.

Another UL310 fan here!!! I'm using the Epi with a Thunderfunk 750A and it is KILLER. The other rig that I've been using more and more is an SA200 with a Berg EX112. Eventually, I will pick up a Berg 215, but not anytime soon. I had one, but it was overkill for me.

that's my color combination of choice :) (like the pic), I ordered it with the Aguilar preamp, Jimmy says it will be ready in a few weeks... :bassist:

It is much better in person if you can believe that! The kitty in the pic is my neighbors (the pic was taken on his porch) and he spends almost as much time at my house as his own! I think he is admiring the bass too!

As far as rigs go so far I have played this through:

1. Iamp800/NM410 or NL210 - sounds great! The NL is a very revealing little cab but the AC has nothing to hide!

2. Thunderfunk TFB750 with:
A. NV215 - THICK and Meaty! This rig smokes the dub thing but sounds really full slapping and finger style too.
B. NV610 - This is my second favorite Rig of all...OLD SCHOOL vintage in spades. The weight of the T-Funk is a life saver and it has such a sweet tone to it as well as enough heft to keep me happy.
C. NM410 - This is a great rig and if I weren't such a Vintage tone freak this would probably be my favorite. Every note sings and still has enough weight to carry it through the band.
D. NL210 - This is my mini rig and it sounds dynamite in a small room. Plenty of low end for my tastes without farting or breaking up and it makes a great seat! I am seriously thinking of selling the NL210 and the NM410 and picking up some more Bergies! :help:

3. Aguilar DB750 with:

A. NV215 - Fuhgetaboutit!! All the bootay you can stand with a LOT of room to spare. This is a sweet ride to say the least.

B. NV610 - AMPEG KILLER!! This is it! I can't get away from this one to save my life. This is my primary stage rig. Plenty of punch, plenty of volume and the S I Z E of the notes is huge! Tube front end and 12 MOSFETS = One he77 of a lot of fun! I have swapped out all the tubes for Telefunkens and it made an unbelievable difference. Fortunately, I had a Jan-Al case built to hold the cab and the amp permanently and it stays in the truck. When I am in a situation where I can't use it, I take the T-Funk and either the NV215 or the NL210 and I am happy as I can be!!

So far the AC sounds GREAT with anything I put it through!
