Hey Kirk,

Those aren't my basses actually. That is a pic from a couple guys here on TB. I posted it on my site just for reference sake. Maybe I should've put a disclaimer up.

But my bass will look just like Mitchs' Sunburst LG5. Can't wait!!

Paul's bass was originally made for Dave from Aguilar... So thats why it had the Aggy 3 band Pre...
Paul bought an LM5 at NAMM ...Later Paul realized he wanted a an Alder/Rosewood LG instead of the Ash/Maple of the LM. So it turned out Paul liked Dave's bass , and Dave like Paul's bass. So they Swapped basses.

In that Video Paul is playing the Alleva LG5 passive.. Preamp off.. He did not care for the Mid control and never used it. So that is a passive Alleva running into the Gas Cooker Tube Pre/DI to house. Now he uses a REDDI DI.

Anyway, if you look at the add in Bass Player magazine with Paul Turner and Nate Watts you will notice that Paul replaced the 3 band EQ with the Alleva Coppolo 2 band EQ Preamp.. So it is normal Alleva Coppolo V,V,T,Treb,Bass setup.

Great story Kirk. He has a great looking and sounding bass. I love listening to it on Jimmy site. I have been hearing also he is making slammin' guitars too. I have a friend (Guitar Player) who wants to hook himself up with one just by hearing what my bass sounds like. I have been hearing great stories on them as well.

Hey guys, used my LG5 at church yesterday.
I have my new # 1 bass!!!

I posted up a song that we did as our "prelude" -for when the congregation is walking in.
It's "If You Want Me To Stay" done as an instrumental.
Actually for a board mix, it's pretty damn good!!
No crazy playing, just grooving along minding my own business!!:D

It's the LG5 into my Demeter Compulator into my Groove Tubes Ditto Box Tube DI.
Might shoot it off to Jimmy and see what he thinks!

Thanks guys.
There is some weird compression going on from the board to the overall mix. Kinda bugs me, but you can really hear that thing in it's natural glory.

Nothing special playing wise. Just doin' my job!

Both pick-ups wide open, tone control back about 15-20%, treb flat & bass maybe 7-10%.
Literally, just barely touched.

That bass through my tube DI and it's a done deal. That DI kills and warms up anything without getting in the way (thanks to NOS Telefunkin tubes!).
Not like my LG5 needs any help in the warmth dept!
