Anybody have any pics of what I can expect from "aged" ice blue? I'm curious.
I have said it here and I have told my wife and several friends that my Alleva 3TS 4 string is to be buried with me when I pass on so I know just how you feel!

I'm really not sure about this. I think it has allot to do with the amount of sunlight it sees. I have seen lake placid blue look green. I imagine ice will look lighter.

Just curious, guys.......did you guys ask Jimmy to send you pics of your basses or did he just send them?
I asked Jimmy about this and he said sending pics is not something he normally does. He may be able to snap some if you request them...?
Does anyone have any thoughts about the vintage style 5 string bridge? I'm thinking of replacing the BadAss.
Really? why is that Nicky? Just curious. I have no idea how the Alleva bent plate bridge compares other than offering a clearly more vintage look and I am guessing a warmer, more vintage tone. But that's just a guess.
Hey Nicky..if you are talking about the newer vintage style steel bridges that were on some of the basses at NAMM..they are going to influence the tone a little more towards an older sound- prob more open than the brass Hipshots, slightly different high end than the brass too. I played them at NAMM and have an LG with the brass Hipshot ..and from what I could tell they delivered as promised ( not neccessarily better but different). I'm going to try one on the LG.

I did! he said that he was really busy and that he might not be able to and I said it was okay. BUT to my surprise, when I opened my email account....BAM some pics of the bass...He's the man!
I spoke to Jason Langley about it and he said, in a nutshell, that it does give the bass an older sound but you lose some sustain and clarity with the new bridge........I'll get around to getting one eventually..........

I don't know why, but I've never liked BA bridges. They add so much unneeded weight to the bass, and I'm not a long sustain kind of guy. I prefer a more percussive approach. If it doesn't retro-fit, then I'm not going to worry about it. The tonal changes that you guys are mentioning sound right up my alley too. I'm not 100%--just tossing some ideas around. Thanks for the info.

I just wanted to get some opinions from some people who have tried the new bridge. I will have to call the shop to see if it will retro-fit. I'm not really in a hurry to switch--just thinking about it.
Just curious, on a 5 string Jazz are the pickups in the 60s or 70s position.
I've bought 2 high end Jazz basses on e - bay and both have the 60s placement.Unfortunately I like the 70s placement better.So I'm still looking for that perfect bass.

The Standard & LG-5 has 60s spacing.........the RA-5 & LM-5 have 70s spacing.............The Limited can be made to custom specs.........
