Me too...he's got an idea already and a few more if need be.

BTW, if anyone was curious about the korina raffle bass when I was there Jimmy hooked it up and it sounded great...he's got more on the go if anyone wants to check it out.

Does anybody know if Jimmy is still making the 6571 basses? I've been trying to inquire about getting one. I haven't seen the model offered in his online store. Anyway, I've love to know more about the jazz 5 regarding how it sounds etc... Dying to re-enter the club!

They've been true one piece necks (no separate fretboard) for at least a few years now. The way you can tell is the skunk stripe at the back of the neck where the truss is put in as opposed to the truss being fitted into the neck from the top before the fretboard is glued on. RAs are the same.

FWIW I've no problems with any bullet truss in my Fenders, and/or 3 bolts...guess I've been lucky too. However I AM glad Jimmy's 5 strings are 4 bolt.

Just a note- Jimmy is aware and on top of any issues with the bullet and is looking at the whole thing as we write here. He's quite creative and dedicated to doing everything "period correct" so if there's a better way of doing it good chance he'll figure it out :)

+1 ... good to know. I figured the skunk could be there just ornamentally and still go the separate fret board route anyway, so I wasn't sure.

Do you know if Jimmy's taking virtual entrys for the raffle? Either way, it's a good cause to through a few bucks into the hat for...

I must admit that because my "bass formative" years were in the 70s I'm forever attatched to that period...I've grown to love the tone of those basses and the variants that came from guys like Marcus and others, so when Jimmy finally decided to do the one - piece /skunk/bullet I was thrilled as I had been talking to 3 different luthiers for years about finally doing a proper 70's Jazz. I like the look of the skunk and I really like the ease of the bullet over the heel truss (even with a rout in the body), but I especially like the tone of the one - piece... so I'm glad Jimmy came through..and BTW so did the other 2!:)

Good point Joel...I dont know actually, but the way that korina sounded.... plus the cause is great as you said .. its pretty much a no- brainer.

BTW..on the korina.....Jimmy and I were pretty excited on the tone when we tested it and as it turned out I actually played it over the phone for another customer who happened to call in... and he changed his order to the korina bass right there.
Whoever gets it will have a great bass .

As of right now, he isn't doing virtual entry's- but he wants to.. Jimmy is super passionate about fundraising for his cause- 100% is going to it! So any money coming in is important- but up till now we haven't found a way to receive/ give out tickets in an easy way, and it's kinda anti climatic to have a show with no winner coming up to win his prize (If a virtual won)... Ill be going to the shop tomorrow- ill talk with jimmy more if there's a way, or maybe doing a special online one. Who knows.
