Size 5 is what I got, But I got them off ebay, you can check where you get those on the internet.

Apparently Bass San Diego is closing doors in June and selling off remaining stock on Reverb. I wonder, who will be the next knowledgeable dealer if Alleva-Coppolo no longer accepts direct orders?

I don't think it's a skunk cause it extends into the headstock and skunks are for truss rods with a one piece neck. It most probebly is paint because it goes into the headstock. You know over the years Jimmy seemed to like doing some different things ...even one-offs. Who knows if it was ordered.

I know I'm super late to this, but I remember this bass. Jimmy had wanted to a sort of competition/racing stripe on a neck, and that one had a funky mineral stain, so he did it on that one. Great bass if I'm remembering the feel—just a slightly thicker neck that gave it a bit of natural compression (again, it has been a WHILE since I played it).

Probably Bass Club Chicago or the Bass Shop in Seattle. BCC is veteran to high end instruments and are a dealer, and BS I BELIEVE is some of the guys from the old Bass Northwest (RIP), so they're knowledgeable and passionate. That's good, because Jimmy's basses really are the business. Nothing quite feels as convincingly vintage or has that bass-to-bass personality as an A/C. Not that I need to convince you guys LOL.

I'm finally IN!!

What a remarkable instrument. My wife surprised me for my upcoming 50th birthday with this beauty and I'm smitten. I'll be posting a NBD hopefully tomorrow but for tonight, I'm selfishly enjoying this.

From the AC website it says that there are 6 LG models.

Standard, Standard Plus, Classic, Classic Supreme, and a Classic Supreme Limited Edition.

Is there any physical marking on the basses that would determine what model it is?
Also, for anyone that has played both the LG and the LM, what differences can you hear/feel?

One of the biggest difference from LG and LM would be the pickup spacing. So essentially 60's spacing vs 70's. The wood are also usually represented by the respected eras. Ash/Maple for LMs and Alder/Rosewood for LGs.

You could generalize these differences by searching through TB.

Also here's a video between LG and RA(pretty much LM's)
