Hi Mitch!
You hit the point: the saddles move side by side, because the are no troughs on the bottom plate.

I'll try to set the saddles perfectly parallel to the bottom plate to check if I could solve the problem, but I think it's a structural issue of the actual bridge.

Taking the room out the equation....here is the AC LG5 FR in action completely RAW through Logic Pro and my new audio interface. It's great first run for my MAC M1! LOL!

Starts off in passive mode...with neck and back pick-ups around 50% and tone dialled back.
I switched the active preamp on later on in the track, added some more back pick-up, and some more tone.
Get some good speakers or headphones...

These two continue to be great examples of Jimmy’s work…as instruments in music first, and then as works of “usable” art and luthery.
Silver has been on two album projects and the Burst on several sessions too. Live they sound amazing. Both were rescued a while ago and are being put to work making music….like most in my stable. They all have a slightly different sonic personality and feel that makes me play and think a little differently…even with the same track. These are great musical tools …thanks again Jimmy for making that the mission statement for the brand all those years ago!

The term “Rescued” peeked my curiosity. Could you share the backstory by chance? Thanks for posting btw!

Not to go into detail….but at different times both basses were on a journey that had nothing to do with music and playing at all. I knew both these basses, and that they were exceptional LG5s.

Thank you! Yes, that's nitro on the RA. On this video the preamp is bypassed so I guess it's in "passive-aggressive" mode. I find myself using it passive more and more. Not that there is anything wrong with Jimmy's preamp and for live playing it's great but for recording I want to hear more of the wood and less of the preamp. Thanks for your compliment again! It was (is) a fun project.

I made the mistake of selling my AC to a friend in need a few month back. Now I'm searching for another 5 stringer. It seems there were quite a few listed in the classifieds recently. Have they dried up? In any case, I have good news; I talked to Jimmy last week and he’s starting to cut parts again so hopefully he’ll be back in the groove soon.

Yes they have. There was a good run a month ago and they were gone in a flash. Good news about Jimmy though

I have a question about the SN of Coppolo basses. Sometimes the last letter on the neckplate is "T" and most times is "C". What do these letters stand for? Thanks guys.

I’ve never really inquired about this in detail with Jimmy but there are some others who know the deal here…

Im going to take a stab that T is for transition era between NY and Cal. C is for California. Just a guess.

Assuming he isn’t too busy with Olinto and still taking on repair and maintenance work, I’d say Mas Hino. Jimmy said Mas used to help him back in NY.
