Thanks! I really love it. It has an Ash body, which I thought I regretted at first, but I really like the added low end.
Yes, it's Satin Dakota Red, but in fairness, it's Jimmy's CA painter's interpretation of the color, which to me looks a bit different, maybe darker, than other Dakota Reds.
If your bass was built during the final years Jimmy was out here it was likely painted by a former Fender painter named Fausto. His shop is in Norco. He's a nice guy and does great custom work. He painted the Gulf Porsche AC5 I posted here awhile back.
Yes, Fausto painted both my basses actually.
