Yes, it's Satin Dakota Red, but in fairness, it's Jimmy's CA painter's interpretation of the color, which to me looks a bit different, maybe darker, than other Dakota Reds.

If your bass was built during the final years Jimmy was out here it was likely painted by a former Fender painter named Fausto. His shop is in Norco. He's a nice guy and does great custom work. He painted the Gulf Porsche AC5 I posted here awhile back.

Longtime admirer but first time owner! Was able to secure this LG 5 in Mango Pearl from John Fox Bass. Really looking forward to bringing this beauty out on some gigs. (p.s. - I need a number)

He does excellent work. Anyone with a poly AC that is considering a refinish would do well to consider him. I think his shop is called Reyes Painting.

First time owner here. Alabama Sky Blue painted by Professor. When John first showed me the color I just couldn't resist.
This bass blew me away. The neck feels so worn in and warm, so comfortable that it's hard to describe. It weights only 9lbs. It sounds fantastic in passive mode just like a vintage Fender with the B string. The eq in the active preamp is subtle IMO but very musical. I like the fact that the volume difference between active and passive mode is small, which will make it easy to switch modes between songs.I can't wait to play it live.

I'm so in love with it right now!
