I have never bought a bass with DN board so I have no experience. My KBP CS has the famous "JimmyWood". Although I think Jimmy has given it another name now.

Went visit Jimmy during the NAMM period and check out the ready neck for my LG5... Simply can't wait!!!

That looks great…..I spent the tuesday before NAMM with Jimmy and its always a highlight. The necks and bodies look amazing and I'd love to see yours when its finished...

yeah pretty much perfect. Especially fun when its back line - no way would I cart one of those things around
I'm with you there. Not something I would personally lug around -- but if logistics weren't a concern, that would be the rig of choice.
I recently picked up an Ampeg V4B reissue 40lbs and 100 watts of all tube power. I wouldn't dare lug around an 8x10 these days but it pairs nice with modern neo cabs!
Yeah I see those micro tube amps in shops but have never played one. Will have to try one out one day.

Ive seen some LMs go for about $7k in Europe recently.. they will pay the $$ to get one. ...

I spoke with Jimmy yesterday about his Alleva Coppolo yearly BASSACRE GTG.. It is usually in the spring but he is swamped right now...
So it looks like it will be in the fall. No Date is set as of this time . but that should firm up withing the next 2 months or so.
It will be in LA as usual . Looking at last weekend in Sept or first weekend in Oct 2015.
Last year was a huge success. Great performances, some of the top LA and NY , Nashville session bass players coming in to hangout..
Lots of gear too. Nordstrand, Ampeg , Form factor, A-Design REDDI, LaBella, just to name a few.
Plans are staring early this year. It will be larger and with more artist performances.
Figured I would let folks know.. Oh and also the usual Alleva Copplo and other Vendor giveaways... I won a set of Nordstrand NJ4 Pups and a Nord preamp last year... Ive never won anything.. Love the Pickups..

Mmmu hahaha.. Thank you Alan.. That is so funny... I remember that night... Sebnem... took that photo.. We were at Grover Jackson's shop in LA . The night before NAMM doing some final touches on a couple of basses for the show. And a few basses were NITRO painted. I love the small of Nitro in the evening.!
