That's a great picture, Mitch! Wow...

Looks like I know what Alleva #2 will be... :help:

Man, I can't explain what that RA does to me....... I think about that bass ALL DAY and grin my ass off.......:D.....it has surprisingly gained a comfortable lead in playing/practacing time over the LG (which is still a beast)......but that RA.......it calls me in my sleep...........don't think I'm ordering an LM anytime soon because of that bass........

Hoe does an RA differ from an LM? 70's spacing?

That's really saying something! Your LG5 is quite amazing.

I'm really taken by the looks of the RA5.

I'm just stoked about my LG5 more than anything right now! It won't be too much longer.

I'll tell you, I love (LOVE) the 70's ash/maple mojo... but two of the nicest playing/responding/sounding basses I've ever played were alder bodies with maple necks/boards. One Elrick: alder w/ quilted top, maple neck, birdeye board, Aero J's and a Demeter preamp. It's actually on Basstasters, and that thing was A-L-I-V-E!!! Another was a Fodera that was alder/maple. Just a fantastic, and under-utilized (in my opinion) wood combo. It doesn't have the growl that ash/maple does, but it has a lot of low end, and a sweeter high end, yet retains a warm punch. I'd love to try and RA5... is the spacing 60's or 70's, I don't remember?

:bassist:

It's Jimmy's version of a early 70's black blocked Jazz. Alder/maple 70's spacing. fenders were poly with nitro headstock's.

I believe Jimmy's have been all poly necks (tinted headstock's to replicate nitro) and both nitro and poly bodies depending ( I think that Ice Blue and white one are nitro).

That's what I've been wondering about...

Thanks Aj!

Thats how I feel about my LM. The sound of it just seems to be getting better and better. Wouldn't mine any of the AC models. They are all good and probably be happy with any model. But I have been really diggin my LM5 alot. Seems im getting more top end and bottom.

Kirk has an Alder body with Maple neck, that sounds amazing.
Its a LG5. Looks great too.

It's sideways, it's a bit grainy, but it's the only pic that the pharmacy's photo crew didn't totally screw up......

Let's turn these bad boys right side up.:)
