Club Alleva Coppolo (Part 7)

I've finally got around to setting up a photobucket account, since my TB attachments only show as links now!

Here is my LG5 with a Honduran board / poly finish and my KBP with a vintage bridge, DN board / nitro finish.

I have an LM5 on order with blocks and bindings and vintage tint, the back of the neck however is going to be done in satin. I am pretty sure that I'm undecided on a color and will probably just go with a clear coat for lack of creativity. I just want it to sound killer!

Those are some pretty Hi-Fi rigs for really Vintage basses. An interesting dichotomy.

I've been running my basses (LG-5 and KPB-5) through a Glockenklang HeartCore and an Accugroove Tri-115 or Berg HT/EX stack (now sold). It does a great job of amplifying the vintage tone of the basses.

That is good to know! I talked to Mark about getting a Synergy/Tri 115 Combo the second they are ready to ship and I am really hoping that it will bring out the tone of my Coppolo...

I also just have to post that I had been using my Sadowsky MV5 as my main bass on the gig I am doing and have used the AC a few times but the engineer preferred the Sadowsky. Last night I used my Alleva Coppolo with my Demeter tube DI and my Sadowsky Outboard Pre for the first set and our sound guy gave me the thumbs up within the first song. I had considered selling the AC because it was not getting much playing time. It sounds, plays, feels, and responds better than anything else I have but if they do not get played I move them. At the break he ran up to me and said "Man now THAT sounds like a bass! You can sell everything else you have as far as I am concerned and just play that Alleva from now on. I could hear everything you played and it still sounded fat and rich and I had the EQ set flat"... I am playing in Charlotte tonight and the only bass I have in the van is my Alleva Coppolo....THANKS JIMMY!!

Peace,

T

ENJOY!

And by the way this bass does have 70's PUP spacing on it so you guys are NOT crazy! This was an accident according to Jimmy but I am REALLY thankful that it worked out this way. I get a KILLER slap tone from her that is fat and tight and a finger tone that is pure sex....

Hmmmmm, I haven't tried that yet. I think I'm gonna go upstairs and run my KBP through my outboard Sadowsky preamp right now.
