So, I picked up a couple sets of Lo Rider steels to try with it, just for the heck of it. Lo Rider steels are quite nice...but what happen to your Sadowsky Black label experiment?

I liked the Lo Rider Nickels so much, I kind of stopped there for a while. Lo Rider Steels are next. I kind of moved away from the interest in the Sadowsky Blacks, with that super upper mid response, after I heard the Lo Riders.

I've used LR SS's on various J's before, including the alder/rw spec, and really liked them a lot. I'm not sure if you'll arrive at the same conclusion, tho. I suspect you'll still prefer the nickels noting your prefs, but we'll see. :)

+1 I had them on my Lakland DJ, and they sounded very good (that bass was SO aggressive that the Hi Beams didn't quite fit the vibe). We shall see!

I love Lo Rider Nickels! The only strings I will ever "need"... The DR booth at BPL had 4 sets left of 45-125 and I cleaned them out! I've heard so much about Sunbeams but feel I've found my strings and experimenting gets expensive.

I also talked to Jimmy today and confirmed the specs for my order - I'm going with the gloss neck and board, and vintage tint on the body and neck. I can't wait!!!

LOL no I just play around in photoshop for fun. Nothing serious. Thanks for the compliments though.

It's not really what you were talking about, but he makes an NF model (No Frills) that is a jazz, only available in black, with AC pickups and an Aguilar preamp, and import hardware. I believe the price for it is in the mid $2k range.

The Basic models are the regular LM and LG base models.

As far as I know though, there aren't plans to do an import line like the Skylines, Metros, Brutes, MTD Kingstons, etc.
