350 grain line (Airflo 40 plus) Tibor riptide on a Scott S3s. That's a salt marsh that's mostly 2 feet deep except a couple of holes where the channels meet and drop down to about 10 feet.

Im was supposed to do a session at the old Paris studio. no word yet though.. i was hoping to have it etched in stone this week... last one i did, i did my parts here and FTP'ed them.. Steve Hass on drums.. the guy is amazing...

I need to update this photo I am now playing 2xNL210s and a IAMP Pro, it is a killer rig. The Doubler and VL208s are being used for DB gigs, although they have a very cool old school vibe with the KBP5.

LG5 - Old Growth Honduran board, satin neck profile, finished in poly
KBP5 - Dalbergia board, vintage tint neck and nitro finish.


I heard from Jimmy recently and my LM5 will be done soon after NAMM. A slight delay from what I originally planned for but as I've said in the past as long as this is the greatest bass ever I'm not worried about a few weeks either way!:hyper:

man . i should have got a SB P5.. next one i guess... Nobody that i have seen in recent years dose SB like Alleva.... its in the yellow center that everyone messes up.. and Jimmys are dead on with his Nitro painter.

all joking aside though, I know those SWR workingman amps sound flippin' fantastic. I used to give my guitar player buddy a hard time about spending $3500 on a Les Paul to run it through a $100 effects pedal to get "his tone". haha...some seriously beautiful basses in this thread. Wish I was a part of the club. Maybe someday though.

I paid 150 for the WM10. It's the smallest thing I could get that sounds ok. It's my living room amp. I never play it loud-ish at all. The WM12 is in the music room/studio,bought it new in the box for 260.I really want a mini svt because it would look cooler. I like the way they sound as well.

I got loud stuff to play out with.;) a IP112 stack with a SVPCL with Telefunken tubes is the main rig. I have a NV425 that I used to have a CA9 for but...I'm deciding what to do there. DB750? SVT? Another CA9?Sell the Cab because it really big?

Can I get back in the door now?:hiding:

Nice! My two favorite rigs with the LG and LM are either an Epi410UL/Markbass F500 or a Bergantino AE410/TC RH450. Both basses sound great through both rigs, with the Epi being cleaner, bigger, smoother, and crisper up top, and the AE rig being just punchy and grindy and aggressive as heck (that particular rig really sang with the RA also... scuffing it up and grinding it a bit). Both just sound GREAT with the A-C's.

For jazz type contexts, the TecAmp rig (Puma500 and s212) is just as pure as new fallen snow! Wonderful stuff!!!! I have the TecAmp rig set-up in my practice space... beautiful 'reference monitor' like tone.

That's an awesome setup you have and those basses are gorgeous. I'm very jealous. But even if you were playing through a behringer 15w combo, you'd still be wwwwwaaaaaayyyyyy farther in the door than I am. An Alleva is definitely on my wish list for the future. But for now, I'll settle to live vicariously through ya'll.

The Iamp Pro and 2xNL210 rig sounds really great. The Pro has a little bit of built in lows like the other Iamps and with this setup it works great, I did have issues in the past with this on the older models. The LG really doesn't need any bass boost it sounds great just set flat. I am boosting the lower mids 5 or 6 dbs in the 500hz range and it is just about perfect. The NL210s as a pair has a nice powerful low end and some good snap and grind up top. The Pro puts out a lot of power which gives it a very un-micro feel. It's got an audio taper so the volume is spread nicely over the full range of the knob. With this particular rig the master doesn't need to go past 3 or 4, set at noon it's just ridiculous. Works great with Jimmys basses too! BTW both tweets set flat.

Maybe too OT, and my applogies if so, in which case PM me responses, but...

What are others' feelings on the SVT tube DI? I've had one "thrust on me" in one of the churches I play in, and I could swear my tone got crappier. Seemed more brittle on the high end, and believe it or not, thinner on the low end. Seems like my tone was fuller and richer with a regular DI. Does that make any sense?

I'm seriously considering bringing my JDI in and secretly plugging it in to see for myself if it's just my memory failing or if there's something to it.

Personally I do not like the SVT tube DI...Maybe we both got one with a bad tube?? I dont know...
I had one for about a week and tossed it... Im a REDDI convert.. and if need be a Countryman will do just fine..

EDIT: I think my tone was masked somewhat with the SVT DI. almost like there was a weird phase thing going on..
But some folks love them..

I think your JDI would smoke the SVT DI..
