I'm thinking there TIs but I'm not sure.
Not digging the Jamerson set on my LG5 in the slightest. I had to give 3/4 of a turn on the truss rod to get the neck just right. I will let them settle in and see if anything changes for the better.
FWIW I've got a set of Labella 760's on my KBP5 and the B string has a red wrap. Jimmy didn't have any 5 string sets when I bought mine so I got a 4 string set, wrapped black, and the single B which is red.
I've used the TI flats before and they are so much lower tension than any other string that I've played that I'd bet $1 that that unless you have an extremely light touch that they're not TI's.

Wow .. that's an early one. What's the serial number?
I recommend the upgrade to the passive tone and a hipshot bridge .. they will both bring more life to the bass.
I wouldn't add a pickguard ... that burst is great !!!
that one came up on ebay around a year ago and didnt get a bid and was somewhere in the 2k range if i remember right. i was tempted to pick it up until the owner told me it was really light. his estimation was 7 or 8 pounds. is that about right?
Probably a different bass--this owner (who I trust a great deal) told me that he never tried to sell it, and it's definitely not 7-8 lbs in weight. I'll weigh when I get home, but feels around 9.5 lbs or so.

I use the PTC on mine very regularly (tho not all the time). Highly recommended.
he might have bought it from the guy who was selling it because its definitely the same bass. i figured there was no way it could be that light, but it still scared me off enough to not put in a bid.

I've noticed that there are a couple different headstock shapes amongst the A-C basses. Some are more fat and some are more thin and pointy.
Was there a certain time that the headstock shape changed?
Are the current ones the fat ones or the pointier ones?
Is it an option to get one or the other?
Here's a picture of what I mean. Look at the two four strings on the right. I've seen this difference in five strings and between P and J style. What's with it?

last time i was at the shop i played a couple of alder 5's and they were really light. maybe, barely 9 pounds. couldve been in the 8 pound range. hes doing a great job keeping the weight down on the lg's.
