Im really looking forward to the show this year.. just getting a late start out there. Had a session today.. have to pay the rent!
Get my dog off to the puppy sitter then off to namm.
I will certainly relay the message from you .. Not bringing my laptop this year so i wont post pics till i get home and im sure others will be able to post way before i do.
I want to see the short scale bass that he made.. or maybe its medium scale.. dont remember.. cant wait til tomorrow

Joe, I should be around on Sunday and can swing by your area for a few.

Bigg Redd Too killssssss! Many before have said it, but the LM5, and Jimmy's basses in general, in passive sounds so sweet, and his pre just adds such subtle boost (for the most part, unless you open it wide, which is not necessary IMO) that accentuate the organic tones of the bass. I love it.

I wonder if Jimmy will do an all passive...Maybe there will be one at NAMM...I don't know anything :ninja:

Since the pre in passive bypass is virtually identical to 'no preamp', if you really like the passive tone of the bass and use it that way more than with the preamp, just reverse the connection on the push/pull passive/active knob so that it is in passive with in the normal, down position. That way, the knob will work as a 'turn on the preamp' knob versus a 'bypass the preamp' knob.

Just an idea. It works well, since having that knob raised up all night is just a touch bothersome.

Ah yes, that is a good point K. However, I generally do use the preamp, with bass and treble boosts around the 2-3 o clock positions.

I was trying to be a bit tongue-in-cheek with the passive bass comment as I was foreshadowing! Jimmy told me that he built an all walnut 5'er that was the first totally passive AC he built and I am letting the cat out of the bag because it looks like it is shown in badbassist's pic!:bassist:
