You guys are wimps. I played a Fodera for years that I believe was 20mm at the bridge, and almost 2" at the nut. Now THAT was a bit of a handful.
I again just like the idea of a '4 string plus 1' versus a totally different feeling instrument, since I can go through an entire gig not playing the B string at all in some contexts.

Hey all, I spent quite a bit of time in the AC booth today at NAMM and man, oh man, was I glad I did. There is some AMAZING stuff there now and I have made a decision on what I will be ordering which will be a 4 string LG. I played one today (which Miko has bought) and it was the highlight of the show for me.
Damn fine bass...it was also very nice to hang with Jimmy, his wife, Miko and Yohann today.

Sunday is open for me. My girlfriend (roomate) works 3-9. The earlier in that time frame the better. Don't want to anger the neighbors too much. I doubt any of them will be sleeping then.

Bigg Redd Too killssssss! Many before have said it, but the LM5, and Jimmy's basses in general, in passive sounds so sweet, and his pre just adds such subtle boost (for the most part, unless you open it wide, which is not necessary IMO) that accentuate the organic tones of the bass. I love it.
I wonder if Jimmy will do an all passive...Maybe there will be one at NAMM...I don't know anything
Sorry folks, we have lots of great pics, but we just got back from bass quake (bash) and we need sleep first. We'll try to get some posted in the morning. Yes, we have pics of the AC booth.
A couple notes, yeah, those are walnute JJ4, P4, and JJ5 basses, and the skunk stripe is actually flamed maple. The trans red LM5 with the pearl blocks actually has a new feature. It's a neck adjustment like what Fender had and called the "micro-tilt". I don't know what Jimmy's gonna' call it, and in his case, it's still a 4 bolt plate, which is nice. Other than that, one thing I confirmed today is, if I get another AC, it's definitely gonna' be an LM or maybe even an RA. I played an RA today that was mind blowing. A friend of Miko's... that orange one in the pics, custom neck profile too.... a "D". NICE!!!!

Interesting on the micro-tilt thing. I wonder what the purpose of that would be on an instrument with an expertly cut neck pocket? It made sense on the 70's era Fenders (or whatever that era was) since those necks were, in general, sloppily attached and shims were needed sometimes IMO and painfully IME back in the day). I guess it's more for 'authenticity' than 'necessity'? I'd be a little upset if I had to 'micro shim' the neck on a $4,000 bass!

Vic is there as a representative of a magazine. I would assume that the pictures are primarily for posting on the magazine site and to eventually make it into the magazine itself.
Maybe though, Vic can post a nice wide shot of the A-C booth and not 'give away the store' as they say
After having been involved in the LG5 pickguard/no-pickguard CRISIS we do deserve one high quality shot of all the AC basses.
