OK guys I talked to Jimmy today and it seems there is a bit of bad news for some of you...We think I got the last Dalbergia 4 Board that he has and he is down to only a few 5 string boards so I am going to get him to make a 5 for me to. If you want one of these (and I HIGHLY suggest them) you should move pretty quick! As far as I can tell this is it! I can not find another supplier anywhere else in the world who has ANY Old Growth, Old Cut, true Dalbergia Negra!!! This may be your final chance to get one the way they used to be made! Jimmy has other GREAT board stock but the Dalbergia is nearly gone! Don't hesitate if you are on the fence...Get it now while you can!!

In other news I snagged the last 4 he had left made in the NYC shop!!!



She is the twin to my beloved 3 Tone Sunburst and I am really psyched to be able to get her! I am going to have him make me a P4 twin with the Dalbergia to go with her and I think I am going to have to get him to make me a 5 with the Dalbergia before it is gone too...Looks like I will be broke soon....LOL! I will have the greatest basses in the world to keep me company though! Call Jimmy and get one of these special basses!

Here are the only pics I have (the ones Jimmy sent me) of my newish -- I've had it 12 days -- LG-5. With this Oly white, sometimes when I'm playing it I imagine that the bass is carved out of a single immense chunk of ivory (but no animals were harmed in the making of this bass...I don't think). I'm sorry that the Dalbergia Negra's almost gone, but this fretboard is "merely" Indian rosewood and it seems to be working out just fine.

WRT settings: right now I think it's sounding best both pickups all the way up, passive.

P.S. Now I'm lusting after that orange LG-5 that showed up a little earlier in this thread: in addition to, not instead of, this one. Once you climb on, it never stops, does it?
