Hey Ace, do you have any more pics of this bass? This is just about exactly what I'd order from Jimmy... CAOJ, no pickguard, rosewood fretboard, and binding but no blocks. Just looks perfect!

I'm not rich like Bernie :D Yeah, Bernie's looks great!

His also has the bend plate bridge. I'd imagine they sound pretty similar, but I guess only Jimmy can comment. They are both Indian rosewood.

+1 Awesome pic.

Pure personal taste, but I find blocks and binding on a big 5 string neck a little 'much'. It gives the bass kind of a neck heavy look. On a 4 string, I totally dig it. On that wide 5, IMO simple is better.

That being said, I'd take either in a second and be happy, happy, happy!

Yeah maybe Jimmy will weigh in as he's the only to have the luxury of hearing both..

Nothing wrong with that! Personal preferences are what make things like this interesting. As long as we're happy with our basses, whoever the customer may be, then life is good!

Alas, that is the only pic of my beloved LG-5er with no guard:(.....:hmm:......perhaps I can take a few over the weekend.........

I would guess that if the bridge made a 5% difference and the fingerboard made a 10% difference when you add them up thats 15%.. Just depends on where you want to go.
But i am really liking the Bent Plate on the LG5

I think I have a problem --

I took my LG-5 to play at church rather than the KPB-5 I have been playing for the past several weeks and got chewed out by the drummer and pianist! Apparently, the KPB is a hit and that is what they want to hear!

What am I gonna do?
