Hey Guys,
Question - What range of amps have you used with AC basses? Has anything risen to the top of the pile? I'm just interested in what you feel is the perfect AC to Amp to Cab combination.
I'm using EA gear (an iamp500 wizzy stack mainly). My AC jazz sings and sounds amazing through this rig. Apparently my KBP4 is now off to the painters. To be honest, I haven't dug P-basses through EA gear so I'm interested to hear what you are using.

IMO, Genz Benz GBE 750 or 1200, plus Bergantino HS210 cab (or cabs), or HS410. Hold tight though, there will be a load of other suggestions along shortly.
FWIW Jimmy himself really likes the Aguilar SC500 (correct model number?).

I'm really digging my new KBP4 through my Thunderfunk 550 (kinda similar to the Aggie SC500?) and Aguilar DB112. Talk about punch.
My LG5 also sounds great through this little rig. When I was doing church gigs I had my LG5 running through that Thunderfunk and an Epifani UL310 S1, which was also awesome.

I'm the lucky guy blessed with the spalted alder bass that was on the AC site. I've had it for a few months now and it's amazing! Unbelievably light, responsive, and monster tone for days. In no way is it a "one trick pony" in the tone department like a few of my previous basses. I have had the opportunity to use it at a great many gigs playing a wide variety of music with a few different acts, (RnB, Blues, Funk, Rock, typical wedding band stuff, big band) and I got to tell you, It is the shiznit!!!!! I am constantly amazed at that bass.
Jimmy knows I'm a very picky SOB, and he knows tone. From my experience, when he calls and tells you he has something you might like, you have to listen. I will always be grateful to him, and how serious he takes his craft.
Someday I will get around to posting a full review (and some pics)......
On the topic of amps, I use a couple of EBS rigs- A Fafner w/2x10 cabs and a Drome combo. I bought the Fafner when my taste was at a different place tone- wise, (stop laughing Jimmy, remember that Tu***r fretless? How about The W*****k boat anchor? You too Big Redd- stop it). Now I have a better Idea of what I want and am jonesin for some Aguilar gear.

I've been using a Accugroove Tri115 and a Glockenklang HeartCore and have been loving the tone with both my LG-5 and KPB-5. They also sound really good with a Bergantino HT/EX 12'er stack but I really prefer the Accugroove. I'd like to try them with other equipment sometime but really like what I have, too!

I have an AC on the way and it should be here Friday. It's a racing stripe yellow KPB4 that's made it's way around among a few TBers.

I've seen pictures of that bass! That is the Uma Thurman (Kill Bill) bass! Congrats on that one. One of the coolest precisions I have ever seen. And it is an AC so you can be sure it will sound as good as it looks

There was one other spalted Alder bass that was made... LG-5, 3-tone burst, bent plate bridge and Dalbergia board. Jimmy offered it to me, but I couldn't swing it.

I haven't had the chance to play out other than church since I received my LG-5. I will probably start looking for some more opportunities to play soon. When I do, I'll be rockin' my DB750 and GS410. At church, I only use my amp for monitoring myself and filling the stage, and my Yamaha rig gets by just fine and sounds great. People think "Yamaha???" Well, I tell you these cabs sounds great (1x10s) and the head is just fine. I'd replace the head if I found something that will drive the 2ohm load that was also fairly light weight. The cabs have 1/4" jacks only.

So, I've been waiting for a month after sending in my audition video to University of North Texas' Jazz Studies Dept. and the letter came yesterday. I got in. I used LG5 #74 on the electric selection of the audition and it served me well. GI Bill and college, I'm stoked!
The second bit of good news is the army band I work for just got in the mini rig I ordered. Markbass LMII and Epifani UL112! I can't wait to bring in the LG5 today and bathe myself in transparent AC tone. MMMmmmm. Your Tax Dollars At Work!!

It doesn't get much better than North Texas State - nice work Matt! Work hard, and make us proud... and maybe a little jealous too.

Hehe, not exactly bro! We get stuck doing a bit of that normal soldier stuff too, but when the band does march out on a parade or ceremony, I rock the big @$$ bass drum.
Who better to keep the band in step and at the proper 116bpm (standard sousa march tempo) then the bass player?? 
Thanks a lot steve, yup that was a clip from the audition that I posted up on youtube. The rest of the audition was all on the upright with my combo, but I reserved the uptempo tune for the electric and Aebersold. I think the video displays how even the volume is from string to string on AC basses. Previously, someone had concerns that with the fretboard radius and relatively flat pole pieces, there would be a volume drop in the middle strings. The Alleva Coppolo vids on youtube prove that assumption wrong.
Thanks everyone for the positive words and all the great intel you've provided on Talkbass. In 10 years old playing, I've never learned so much valuable info about our instrument.
