Yes Fodera's 36" scale basses are longer and a pain to get in to other bags with out tugging the zipper around the headstock and losing most protection..
Here's my Emperor 36" scale notice the bridge is in the same position as there 34 or 35" basses...

On topic though, all I use anymore is the InCase Slim (1st gen, yellow writing). I own a Dub as well, and I like it, I just haven't had the occasion to use it because one bass always sufficed for my gigs, although that will probably change pretty soon. I'm curious to try the Sadowsky Portabags as well with all the positive feedback they've gotten. I'd like to use a smaller, lighter bag, but I always end up with cables, pedals, strings, adjustment tools, music, etc... in my bag and the InCase is the only one I've found that manageably holds it all.

The Portabag is a SERIOUS contender. It's got nice big pockets and is very well made. I still think the inCase has better protection overall, but I use my Portabag a lot too and love it. Oh, and an LM-5 or LG-5 fits it just fine. :)

The Portabass and the original Slim Bag are very, very similar in design and feel. The Slim is a touch more heavy duty, and the Protabag is a touch lighter, but pocket size and basic design are about the same!

That is an amazing Fodera (and I'm not even into Fodera's at this point).

Good to know, may be worth picking one up since (as you said earlier), my Slim won't last forever, and I definitely prefer it to the newer Slims.

I'm on the case with the cases!.. and have been for some time now. Shouldn't be much longer.

Yep the original barts and Haz labs pre circa 1992...Just when I started working at the shop we made this bass and yes she is the very first Emperor 6 Vinny ever made all 6's before this bass were AJ contrabass models...
I don't play her all that much anymore but she is a very special bass and has tone for days...
Jimmy's basses are by far my preferred tools as of late and I cant see myself leaving the stable anytime soon as they deliver exactly what I want and need every time...

I for one did not really like the incase bag much at all............I did love and appreciate the superb protection that it gives any bass you put in it, but man is that thing heavy...... I couldn't even put my Little Mark amp in the accessory pocket and that thing is about as tiny as it gets........as a matter of fact, it was pretty unconfortable to put my essentials in it (amp, cables, etc.) I felt like it was going to pop........one of the straps broke off......I just did not have a very good experience with it besides feeling like everything short of a grenade blast hitting it was not an issue.....I love the ample space in Jimmy's bag (WAY bigger pockets) but I too get a little worried about the bass in the bag from time to time..........I am still trying to decide what I want to replace it with.......

Ok, hold on here. The InCase accessory pocket is about the biggest one on the planet. I don't get this. Also, I've been using mine for YEARS now under relatively harsh conditions (equipment vans, etc.) and it looks literally brand new.

What gig bag has a larger accessory pouch than the InCase?:confused: I guess the Sadowsky PortaBag is a touch bigger, but my god, the accessory pouch on the InCase bags is about double most other gig bags.

You think Jimmy's bag has bigger pockets than the massive InCase front pouch. Whaaa???:confused::confused:

I most certainly do..........I tried to put my MarkBass amp in the front pocket and it BARELY fit (I thought the zipper was going to pop at any second)......it's great for cables and even sheet music, but it did not accomodate my amp at all and it lost big time points for that........in Jimmy's bag, I dropped (only an expression) the amp right in and it had plenty of room left.....I even had space for my rarely used effects pedals......Don't know, maybe I got a deffective one (mine was the only I have seen in person)...

I actually tend to agree with him... the "problem" is, as soon as you put a bass in the case, it snugs things up and it's hard to get anything more than cords, strap, music, and maybe other very small items in there. I find the Sadowsky Portabag and most soft gig bags to actually have more "usable" storage. I can not comfortably fit the Markbass F1 in the Slim, but I can easily drop it in the bigger pocket on the Portabag and still have lots of space left over.

Glenn Severin's black LG5 and a LM5 natural for Hajime... notice he ordered the LM5 with no pickguard screws... I guess the guard will be coming on and off :confused:

I don't think there is another option. It's not a cheap bag by any means, just a very standard bag, similar to the bags used by Lakland for the Skyline line of instruments. The simple, no frills bag kind of fits that 'working bassists old school vibe'.

The skyline bag is nicer than the AC bag. I would never use the AC bag. So far my favorite bag is the portabag.
