I have good news and good news Alleva fans!!!!!

First the GOOD NEWS!!

I bought the Trans Red Booker King Signature 5!!!!! Jimmy is getting it out to me next week (At my request).....He is going to sand the neck a little for me before I get it so it feels good and played in.

Second the GOOD NEWS!!!

That means that the Dalbergia boarded 3 Tone Sunburst NITRO LG 5 that I had on order will be available for sale in about April....(UNLESS I BUY IT ANYWAY....LOL!) As of now it will be available though so give him a call to get dibs on it!! I am really excited to get the Booker King Sig...I made the change because I can only take out 2 Basses on the tour I am going to do and I HAVE to have an Alleva but I have to have a Maple board....I thought about it and decided to try the Ash/Ash to see if it gave me even more of what I am looking for...Look for my impressions in about 10 days or so!

Peace,

T

it works great on a kbp5
Hi AC owners!

How do I get a owners club #? I purchased a RA-5 from the TB classifieds this x-mas pasted and love the sound/playability of mine (so much so that I have been scheming a way to get another :) ).

I ordered a bent bridge from Jimmy just to check out the difference of it compaired to the hipshot. I really could tell the difference though I don't think it a great match for the RA. Now I can see where it would shine with an alder body/rosewood board.

I am thinking of letting the bridge go (new condition, installed once and played for a week). I know this not the thread for items that are for sale but wanted to give the AC brothers and sisters a heads up before I posted in accessories. Cost: 260.00, I'll let it go for 200 shipped.

If I order an alder/rosewood AC without doubt I'll go for the bent bridge option.

the AC is such a cool and vibey bass!

I've got first dibs when it shows up in the classifieds.

Just kiddin' T!

I really hope you enjoy it. I know it must have been a bummer giving up some of the basses you have...especially that 4 banger. THAT one was killer.

LOL...You never know! If I can give up the 2 4 bangers I have anything is possible. I really need a maple board for what I am doing. I need the attack and punch and cut that I think I will get with this bass. I have a Maple boarded Sadowsky that I am partial to now and I am hoping that this one will get me even closer to where I need to be. I am trusting Jimmy 100%. I told what I am doing and we both agreed this one would most likely be exactly what I am looking for...If it doesn't work out someone will get it at a nice discount....I hope it doesn't come to that! I am only playing 5s now so I am hoping I will be set.

Peace,

T

Chef nailed it...
it is a headphone mixer... its not the latest or greatest but it did work well.. you can set up your own mix.. more bass drum or piano if you want.. i prefer NO Guitar,, so that get turned off.. you can also set up a stereo field that you like by panning stuff left or right, add verb to any track you want and it has talk back level too... its not like the newer digital ones that are touch screen and all.. but it sure beats one mix for everyone of the past..

I am heading to NY for a few days this week... Im ready for some home and real Pizza!

Nice Shot. What's that attached to your music stand?

I took over Gary Roberts' bass when he hit hard times. His neck was exactly the way I wanted mine, but he wanted the 3TS finish in nitro, whereas I wanted CAOJ in poly. Jimmy was awesome about pulling the bass from the nitro painter's queue (which involved stripping the primer off) and sending it to the poly guy, so huge thanks to Jimmy for that.

Specs:
LG5
CAOJ in poly
Indian rosewood with dots and binding
matching headstock
preamp with passive tone
bent-plate bridge

I'm really excited to see how it complements my Nordy.

I just ordered a Fat Finger because of you....I've always been curious about them, saw one on your bass in this pic....had a weak moment and ordered one.....I'm just sorry I don't have an AC to place it on.

Has Jimmy made or considered a PJ configuration on a 5 string bass? If I were ever to spend big money on a non 6 string bass then that's definitly what I'd want.

They definitely work. I've tried one before. Just curious, where did you order yours from?
