nah, I'm very happy with my Sadowskys, There is nothing that I miss on them.
I'm just a natural ash junkie but have no plans for future non-Sadowsky basses.

You can bet I won't buy any other basses. When I found Sadowsky I found my bass. This doesn't mean that I can't go window shopping.

Other than the Modern 4 that was stolen from my friend, Walter Cosby, Walter also has a natural/ash/maple LM5.
I actually had that Natural Blocked/Bound Ash/Maple Standard 4 for a while (is anyone surprised) I got it on an impulse while waiting for my first 3 TS Standard 4. I realized the error of my ways and returned it shortly after I got it in favor of the 3 TS but not before playing it quite a bit. GREAT bass in every possible way....As I remember it was a bit warmer than similar Ash/Maple basses I have had and it was very lively sounding and exceptionally clear and resonant. The craftsmanship was of course impeccable! I have yet to get a bad bass from Jimmy! I am looking forward to the Booker King I have coming this week!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hehe. For me, "the looking" started way back before we even had a club AC...thanks to a couple threads started by Kjung and Kirk Powers. The headstock (tongue depressor) debate at the time made me realize that I love the look and fell hard for the "66 lollipop tuners. But, I had never played one. I had no clue if I would like the feel. So, why did I put down nearly 4,000 bucks for a bass from a custom shop that I'd only heard about from microscopic adds in the back of BP Magazine, you ask?
The most important thing: The Tone!
After hearing Paul Turner with Jamiroquai on the video at Jimmy's site and learning that he was getting that sound running his AC passive, I knew an order was in my future.
In all honesty, the feel of the neck and string spacing surprised the hell outta me since, after 10 years w/ one bass, I was completely conditioned from my stingray with the oil/wax and tight spacing. So now, even after a year and a half I'm still working to get completely comfortable with the tiny alterations to my technique that the LG5 requires.
Don't think I'm implying that the AC feel is bad, in fact, I can play the hell outta this bass and I do, everyday...lol. It's just radically different from all my previous instruments and when I think about how long and hard I worked to get that effortless feeling happening during the early years, I realize that I am patient enough not to sweat it and sale. I know a good thing when it sits in my lap.

oh did you check out Art 6 yet.. cute college girls and great lattes... im old enought to be there dad so that wont fly...but you can hook up .. Denton is cool.. sometimes they have some cool performances in the teard... and there is a great guitar player chick that works at the Brickhouse on OAK off the square...
