Can someone explain to me how this rigs is connected?

Bass to Avalon to PA - to Brick to amp?!?
or AC to Avalon, EUB to Brick... then Avalon to brick to amp?

have you notice Kirk? i don't even think that's a Brick.. what is that Red DI?

Looks to me like bass to Avalon... Avalon DI out to Brick... Brick to both amp and front of house. That's how the cables look to me anyway.

If that's the case, seems like the Avalon is kind of wasted.

Would it be safe to assume that bass is running into the pedal board prior to everything else? I'm not really into effects and loops and all the different ways of hooking stuff up to stadium sized rigs. :/

But I do know that my mutron sucks the life out of my tone when it's not activated, so maybe Mr. Turner uses the Avalon and the Brick to regain the something that is lost in the pedal board.

Sorry for the non-AC related post!

Hey Kirk, how was his tone? Did it sound different from the Jamiraquai live video where he used the gas cooker?

It looks like from the photo he switches his pedals out in true bypass loops when he's not using them to avoid tone suck.

He uses two different lines.. equalling one for each bass.

Electric bass went to Pedal board- then REDDI DI on the left side then to his amp...

The EUB goes to the Pedal board then to the Avalon then to Inears. both basses wind up going to the inears eventually.. but the EUB is only there and the wedges..

I did get to play that 66 white jazz... it not perfect.. but it is better than any bass that i have...
I guess no bass is perfect.. not even the Allevas.:eek:. they are mostly all made of wood and have their little nuances.. and everyone is different..

He plays fairly loud on this gig as i was standing next to him on sound check.. and he said he plays lower on the Jamaroqui gig..

you are all very welcome... i had to take gear pics.!!.. the heck with the people.... :)

I got there early before Paul and the band... The production manager was very accommodation and said to do what ever i wanted.. try that in NYC..

i would have been tazered as i walked towards the stage area.. saying
" please bro.. dont tazer me". :)

i think you may like the AC preamp... paul leaves his pretty flat and centered from what i noticed.. i have to say that his stage sound is very forcefull and big... makes me want to do a setup on my LG5.. i have been playing with my action too low lately.. I should raise it up a little.. i have been having some neck and nerve problems so i have been trying to make it easier on my body for now...thus lowering my action alot... just have to get on that horse and ride it..

You got to take care of yourself first, then you do all the adjusting and setting up you want. Hope you get better fast! so you can :bassist:

Hey Kirk. I didnt' realize you were having trouble with the neck/hands. Take care of that!

I too leave my Alleva pre pretty much flat (bass and treble 'off'), but do use about a 25% bass boost when slapping just to add some meat to the E string. It's cool, because at that level, it really doesn't change the general tone much, but rather just adds a little bit of 'chest thump' that you lose sometimes when slapping. Pretty cool!

thank you.. yeah its been getting pretty bad lately.. but im still breathing...so the beat goes on..

I have been running my alleva pre with bass to about 5-6 and treble at about 4 lately.. so that is a slight mid dip i suppose... not much.. but you know that pre...

Hey Guys,
Since Will asked, I thought I would let ya'll know that that I talked to Marco a couple days ago and he said my LG5 was sent out via UPS yesterday (Tuesday). Since I live in Maryland, he was thinking it would arrive by Friday.
Also, the shop was all out of tort. guards, so the pickguard holes are drilled but the bass will not be shipping with it. I get the feeling with BP Live coming up and 18 bodies back from paint this week, that the pickguards are going towards the show. I guess we'll have to wait and see if there are any tort guards on the BP basses!

I'll have some pics going asap, and a review as soon as I get some serious playing time on it.
