So(after much thought)........my bass will be done in and around jan/feb....its a long way again, I am SURE it will be well worth the wait:hyper:


As for the other one, Jimmy says it sounds great, the Honduran rosewood is supposed to sound sweet. I think someone else had one coming in soon with the Honduran rosewood right?

So you're going to go with a new bass or just having the neck re-done?

i played my friend Dave Pomeroy's AC 5 yesterday--what a nice bass. all the things everybody is saying are true. felt great, beautiful finish, very even and consistent. B string was killer. preamp was fantastic---more subtle than the sadowsky pre. again, like everyone says on here, more natural and sounds more "like the bass".

i took my passive lakland JO 5 to compare in passive mode. they were very similar and i was happy that my JO hung right there with it. there is a scale length difference and the AC has the active option, but they were neck and neck in terms of tone and quailty for sure.

if i were going to buy an active fender style bass (i think a 70's stlye would be especially hip) i think the AC is a no brainer.

there are pics of that bass on the AC site--it's a good one....I'm sure all of you on the board will very happy when you get the basses you have on order!!

I DID !!! I saw your post here and just kept thinking about that bass. I called yesterday and talked to Marco and BAM! I had to pull the trigger...I HATE to wait!! LOL! I am really stoked about getting mine so fast! THANK YOU!!

Good News Everyone!
LG5 number 74 is complete, packed, and ready to be shipped this coming Tuesday!
Hopefully, it arrives by Friday so I can take it out for a Zydeco Soul Blues gig I'm doing.
It's been 5 months since I called in the order, and this last month has been brutal, but the wait is almost over.
I'll post my review after I spend some quality time with her, and at that point. I will happily don my Club Alleva-Coppolo number. =D Good Times To Come!

if that is the same 60s burst LG5 i played it is a special one.. i almost bought it but i had a few changes happen recently on the home front so im waiting on my kbp5.. that busrt lg5 had something special that pulled ahead of the pack... if its the same one... which i think it is.. wait till you see the 60s nitro burst.. you will poop

Just to clarify, I did order an LG4 in 3 TS BUT I saw this one and jumped on it lickety split! If there is an LG5 available NOW I might have to change it to that one!! I HATE to wait....Do you know if the one you are referring to is available for sale? Maybe it is one of the basses he is getting ready for the shows??? I would LOVE to know and would buy it on your recommendation alone if you can get Jimmy to sell it to me!! HELP me out Kirk!!! :help:

i think that the LG5 sunburst is the one that was the one that was special to me... I will ask him whan i talk tomorrow afternoon... i went to go meet with paul turner tonight .. he was playing his LG5 with annie lennox... man the drummer kicked some serious ass... i could only hang at soundcheck because i had a gig to go to.. i will post some pix as soon as my camera dries out.. yup i got caught in the rain... i ran out of gass.. i have a freakin honda and i ran out of gas.. i feel like an idiot.. its the first time in my life i ever ran out of gas.. and it had to be pouring rain.. so my camera is soaked..
