Marco sounds great, and Dario is killin' it there. And that tone!

Just wondering if you guys get this kinda tone from your ACs.

I know of a few guys that can play like that here in NY. It's been my experience that those types of guys can get that tone out of a squire.

BTW the UL502 is voices perfectly to nail that rear pickup Jaco thing.

It is great and sickening all at the same time.

Don't know how many more pics will come for now. I dropped my camera and in my successful attempt to stop it from landing on the bass, it instead wound up hitting the tile floor. Now it doesn't work so well...

Anyway, initial impressions keeping in mind that:

a) This is the first AC I have ever seen live.
b) I have had it for just over 24 hours and have only played with people once.

First, the fit and finish are extraordinary. The neck is almost too straight to believe. The binding on the neck is very nicely rounded and pretty much feels like it is not there. The bass came very well set up, and whatever Jimmy did to the back of the neck (I think he calls it "satined") is wonderful. This bass feels excellent.

Tone-wise I am still finding my way, but this bass has the best passive sound that I have experienced in any bass. Not really sure what else to say, but happy to answer any questions.

Here are two more pics I got off before pooching my camera.

Sounds like your experience is right in line with what everyone else thinks. These basses are everything people say and more.

Enjoy it! She's a beauty for sure.

BEAUTIFUL BASS! congrats!:hyper:

well guys, I guess now I qualify to be a member of this club.
today I left the deposit for a LG-5, orange with matching headstock, tortoise shell p/g, and ... Aguilar Preamp.

I chose the Aguilar following Matt advice: "but if you are an uber tweaker and must have that mid knob, then go Aguilar. You can't lose!", hehehe so that's what I am :) (thanks Matt)

now... I'm already counting the days :crying:

Heres a little bass porn for you guys that are thinking about a 4 banger!

Check out the tint on the Headstock...Notice how the Binding goes all the way up onto the headstock!! Jimmy said he didn't think he would ever try this 2 tone binding again so enjoy!!

The 2 tone really pops like crazy with the guard that also has a 2 tone binding!

The inlays are off da chain! You can't really tell from these pics that well but they are probably the best looking figured inlays I have seen in a LONG time! This is totally Old School work guys! Everything is totally done by hand here...

Check out the 2 tone binding here!

Notice the 2 tone binding on the Pickguard and how it really brings out the 2 tone on the board...

The Pearloid guard really sets off the Inlays here!

The frets are mediums and the fret work is AWESOME! No rough edges, no glue residue, no risers, everything is perfect!

This shows the Inlays a bit better so you can see the effect.

I got a chance to play both the LG5 and this one tonight in a rehearsal for a backing gig I am doing with a Guitarist and Sax player friend of mine for a few guys that we have never played with and I got a LOT of compliments on the basses from everyone. I was using an NL210 and my Iamp800 and they couldn't believe the sound I was getting from this little rig with these 2 tone machines. The Manager for the group we were playing for said that I had the cleanest sound that he has ever heard!! The Sax player made the comment that what he loved about working with me was my tone. No matter what rig I was playing I always have such great tone!!

:hyper:

To me that is what it's all about, tone! These 2 have it in spades. Don't hesitate to get one of these AC's before his prices go up!! It is only a matter of time...He is one guy (with Marco and his girlfriend's help) running a World Class shop (IMO!) Pretty soon he won't be able to make them fast enough and there will be a 2 year wait!! Jimmy doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who will be satisfied with somebody else doing the work for him either so I see the prices going up and the wait times growing exponentially!!! SERIOUSLY!!

For the record, I closed my For Sale thread on the Olympic White LG5...I must have been tripping to post it to begin with. I said right in the ad that this is the best 5 string I have ever had my hands on!! I don't know what is wrong with me...I guess I just had too many on the way! LOL! Looks like a couple of Sadowskys will take her place in the For sale section!

Thanks for looking and listening!

:D

Peace,

T

This is exactly what I cancelled to get the Olympic White LG5 I have now...
What a beauty! Play her in good health...

Peace,

T

Will be trying..thanks

The white one looks wonderful, and the irony to your post is that white was the original color for my order until I saw the bursts ...then I thought that would be cool also.

Your new 4 is sweet ....play it in good health too.
Cheers,
Mitch

I may have to sell a body part to get something like this....
