LOL :D That's not my bass (but I do have a mind blowing Nordy in trans-coral blue) and those aren't my leaves. Heck it's 88 degree's still. We have two seasons in AZ; Summer, and the rest of the year.
I'm not sure where the Element Orange Nordy lives. But the color sure looks similar to the Juice Orange Alleva.

That sure is a hot bass!!! I love that color and the Orange that Jimmy uses. That will be another beauty!

You're right, Gary! There was a picture of that bass with a different color guard on the Nordy forum and it didn't look as slick. The tort sets it off for sure.

It's very nice........I don't however think it's the same as Jimmy's CAOJ........He uses a undercoat of Harvest Gold (Ken's Gold) and THEN applies a coat of some kind of Orange (don't think it's Honda Orange). His Orange comes out a lot fuller and darker, but has an amazing pop to it that I absolutely love (it's also a nitro/metallic finish).......I wish I could find a pic that really did it justice.......

Hello Club AC!

Say hello to your newest member, proud owner of #76 Limited.

I've watched for a long time and waited for the right moment to commit to a bass that would serve as my "go to" instrument. And for the majority of the gigs in the real world, I can't imagine a more perfect bass than the one I'm holding now.

The construction and attention to detail, which are extraordinary from a visual standpoint, translate directly to how well the bass actually plays. The neck is as straight as can be, and to call it comfortable in my hands would be an understatement. There is absolutely no hint of having to "fight" the bass to get the kind of sounds I want.

Speaking of sounds, this is where the bass absolutely shines. I will admit that I haven't had years and years of playing vintage Fenders to know what the best of vintage is or isn't supposed to be. So the only resources I can rely on are the handful of instruments I have played and all the recordings of those types of instruments I've listened to. Having said that, this bass seems to capture the vibe of those older basses.

But all at once it is also decidedly modern, not sonically in the Sadowsky or Celinder kind of way, but in the sense that this bass is a paragon of what is possible in this day and age. I imagine if Leo was still around making the best J bass he could build today, this would be it. Thanks to Jimmy, it's a reality.

Yes, I know...pics to come...after I manage to put the bass down long enough to take some shots. You gotta see this thing.

I had the opportunity to stop into the shop yesterday and played one of the basses very briefly grey 4 string with the blocks.

I found that the neck had a pretty heavy gloss finish but was not sticky I thought that was very interesting and finished very well. Other then that it would seem to be on par with some of the other high end jazz basses.

There was nothing that blew me away though I guess all the TB hipe might have pumped up my expectations too high.

I can understand that, I play a Lakland JO and am a big fan of the "Super J, Quality Vintage, etc." ala Sadowsky. I understand that there are differences but we're talking the same family....Point being I'm not sure it will cut significantly better then other J styles just differently.

Hey guys. Is the only difference between the RA and LM the blocks and binding. That's what it looks like, but wanted to be sure. There's also a 'Modern' version that looks pretty much identical to the RA.

Can anyone post how all these basses differ? All three look like the classic ash/maple/70's pickup placement J bass.
